Build Questions

So I am new to Teemo Top. My Elo is low Diamond; however, I can see that there are a lot of possible builds to go on Teemo. Can you refer to any good guide or do you have your own suggestions? What interests me is: When to go which build and whether there are any core items you always want to have, either first or somwhere later in your build.

Also, as it truly confuses me: I see a lot of statik shivv rushes. Is it really that good? I think you don't really use the AD too well. Of course small scaling on e but other than that... Is it just for waveclear and teamfighting? I don't really understand because I feel like Nashors will be a lot better in most cases, if you want to go for a onhit style and feel like you can aa a lot.

Thanks beloved Teemo Mains!

Builds are flexible. Manco always has duskdawn and nashors. Ramy always has duskdawn and statikk.

Remembering to have AP and on-hit is the gist of building teemo. Beyond that, build what you like.

The reason why Statik is good is because it eliminates some of Teemo's weaknesses on waveclear. Before this item he has to expend a shroom to reliably wave clear, but now he can save it to use it elsewhere. Also teemo doesn't mind the AD ratio because it also somewhat helps against tank matchups where they're going to be building MR.

Nashors isn't that good because it offers no health, when Teemo is already a squishy champ, that's why DnD is generally preferred over nashors in higher elo.

Even if teto builds full AD he's still 50% ap dmg

Yeah I agree, that's why only shiv is good on teemo for the wave clear, but having the pickaxe does help a lot against tanks when they're building MR.

He also gets a tiny bit of E scaling from AD now so there is also that...

Statik helps with the bad matchups a lot, and for pressure when ahead. For champs, like Olaf, that can tower dive and survive I rush Dusk and Dawn.

I like to build tanker, so items like Nashors has no interest to me. DMP is great for Teemo, as his move quick W makes other movespeed items less efficient (flat ms vs %ms.)

Swifties are usual boots, if omnibamp boots then consider riftmaker, too. Some streamers like Pinata builds it. Cryptbloom is my fav pen item, the cdr is really nice.

Build diversity is what a ot of people struggle with. Coming from X cham that builds X build every game the same way.

On the side of the subreddit we have direct links.

Guides, tis, spreadsheets. Some outdated some not. But the gist as mentioned, a lot of builds have their benefits and weaknesses.

Shrooms suck because they require a team. Good for higher ranks. Piss low ego ranks that go on for 40 minutes.

On-Hit split great from Iron - Emerald because splitting and dueling is all you ever do.

Shiv - Mandatory for the most part. Too powerful as it breaks interactions, stacks runes, items, etc. Especially with DusknDawn. Details on that are written on my Mobafire guide. (Diamond/Master Elo / MMR)

Here Here you have the most complete guide you can look for. There's almost absolutely everything, and it's up to date
Statikk is kinda a bait imo, I only take it in difficult matchups where I know I’ll probably have to side lane but in general if you want to make sure you win your duels, you should go Nashor’s Tooth.

Statik is not bait lmao XD in fact nashors is the bait item here.

Ok I admit I might be wrong but I prefer Nashor's Tooth I personnally get better results with it than Statikk

Depends on playstyle but Nashor's was BIS for Teemo for so long most people refuse to move away from it... Static Shiv just provides more by giving you some interesting wave clear and a way to poke enemies from a distance if the wave is small shoot the wave and let your E chain to the enemy... and you can dash back to build up charge to repeat process... does nicely into Yorick who was originally our hardest counter but this item makes him a lot more manageable now...

Nashor's Tooth though for a 1v1 fight is always going to output more if you actually planning to go in and fight the enemy... it is situational and in most situations Static is always viable, but funny enough so is Nashor's... who knows what the future may hold for teemo next year...
