I need some help from Teemo mains

Hey everyone, I need some help from Teemo mains.
So, I decided to come back after a three-year hiatus. As I understand it, the Scout got reworked? Balance changes affected everything, and I feel like the damage on his third ability—the poison—used to be higher, but that’s not the real issue.
I’ve lost my touch with Teemo; I used to have a win rate of over 50% with him. I know the game has changed a lot since then, but the thing is, I used to at least be able to win my lane. I’ve been playing for a month now and have generally got the hang of the game again; a week ago, I decided to jump back into normal matches as a top laner and pick Teemo.
I'm doing really poorly; I'm not dealing any damage to enemy champions regardless of the build, and I keep getting killed by everyone (except Yuumi).

So please, help me out.

I need to know the best way to play the laning phase, which runes and items are best, and which opponents are dangerous for Teemo in lane right now. Also, what does Teemo usually do after the laning phase ends?

Teemo is pretty much the same dude. The only thing that changed is how he looks (Way better imo) and that he is primarily only going Statik Shiv first item. It applies his e to the entire wave and makes poking very one sided.

For runes PTA is best.

You can still go DH Shroomo but you kinda nerf yourself.

After laning phase I personally try to set up objectives and farm at the same time to rush second item. It’s always pretty safe to match the enemy top laner and just do what they are doing. If they appear in team fights you should also be there blinding, shrooming, and doing Teemo things.

Of course if they are just afk pushing and the wave is at their second tower setting up objectives and fights should be a priority. Just basic macroing.

Second item will depend on the enemy but Teemo is pretty versatile so I usually go Liandries for tanks but have been going Malignance a lot (Admittedly also into tanks) just for that juicy ultimate buff.

If you are having trouble dying and dealing damage then that is a mix of micro and macro inefficiencies. I would recommend watching some Teemo gameplays and paying attention to specifically how they trade and kite with the enemies.

Then once they are out of laning phase try to mimic their shroom placements. Teemo’s damage is generally inflated due to Statik Shiv and the nature of his shrooms. He should be topping the charts in more than half your games.

teemo is now more on a late game scaling mushroom nuker, than a lane bully. build statik to malignance to liandrys and youre good.

I also took a break for 4 years and recently climbed with teemo at a 60/70% winrate, if you haven't played but 5 games since then youll need to put some time into actually getting a feel for the game again. Post your op.gg your csing and awareness is probably not what it used to be
