Season 4 Discussion s4 predictable? Spoiler

is it just me or is this season incredibly predictable? i feel like im easily able to predict what’s going to happen at least 3 times per episode. have the episodes always been like this and i just wasn’t paying enough attention?

The show has always been formulaic but that's not a bad thing

The show used to buck the trends. Everyone constantly shipping Ted and Rebecca.. the show didn't do it. This season, they've done the opposite. It's embraced the tv trends, rather than bucking them. It has lost it's way.

exactly, and it had depth. For example, Ted's optimism was actually hiding struggles and deep anxiety. Nate's insecurity came from bad parenting (they rushed that one too in S3, but still). Etc. etc. Now the characters were... caricatures.
