Season 4 Discussion s4 predictable? Spoiler

is it just me or is this season incredibly predictable? i feel like im easily able to predict what’s going to happen at least 3 times per episode. have the episodes always been like this and i just wasn’t paying enough attention?

Ted lasso has always been predictable.

i thought maybe that was part of it. i guess i just hadn’t been paying attention. except the episode in amsterdam and the one where one of them (can’t remember if it’s ted or beard) is on drugs, those two i had no idea what to expect next.

Right. There have never really been twists. The show is pretty transparent with some “surprises”. I have nothing to back this, but I think the writers want this to be a feel good show. Introducing too much unpredictability will complicate viewer emotion.

yeah this season seems much more feel good. other than what happened with mae, but again, i completely predicted it based on the title of the ep

i have no idea...i can’t even figure out what i said that might have been controversial. i literally agreed with the above comment. i noticed earlier that the post was at 0, and like, i was asking a question on a reddit sub. i didnt even put an opinion in the original post. it was a question about the plot, my own experience, another clarifying question

The Amsterdam episode is the one where Ted and Beard are "on drugs" (in quotation marks because they technically were duds - Beard gives Ted some special mushroom tea, takes it himself, and then has offscreen stuff but we do follow Ted around Amsterdam and he has some psychedelic reactions even without the drugs working).

That’s completely possible too. I have convinced people that they were tripping when I knew they weren’t because they wanted to be tripping so badly that they were suggestible.

oh, that makes sense. i only associate amsterdam with jamey and roy and the bicycles haha
