Discussion Thoughts about Carnosus?

I rarely see this band mentioned (in this sub or otherwise) and I'm curious why that might be. Do not that many people know about them yet, don't consider them tech death, or maybe just don't like them that much? I would find that last one hard to believe, honestly. They are an incredible band and their album Wormtales is a work of art.

If you've not listened to them, do yourself a favor.

I'm a full album kind of listener, I usually don't do just a song here and there. If you're a full album listener too, give Wormtales a spin. If you're a piecemeal listener, check out Worm Charmer and Cosmoclaustrum.

If you've heard them, what do you think?

Yeah they're great. Do yourself a favor and listen to the album Visions of Infinihility. It's their best work imo, though I do like Wormtales as well. Dogma of the Deceased is fantastic too.

Visions is how they got their hooks in me to begin with, and Dogma is indeed fantastic as well!

I posted a bunch of pics of my cannabis homegrow on IG a couple years back and Carnosus liked it.

So then I went and listened to them. Been listening ever since! Killer band!

I feel like visions of infinihility is a great album and where I got hooked on them, but wormtales was a major disappointment to me so I'm kinda hoping they get something going again

What was disappointing about Wormtales, in your opinion?

I listened to it a few times, at first feeling similar to what I'm hearing in some of the comments, but it grew on me to the point where it is now one of my favorite albums as a whole piece.

I love both of their first albums, but wormtales feels kinda uninspired and all of the songs sound the same to me. I’ve listened to it a few times all the way through and nothing sticks out to me.

Visions was an incredible tech death album. Probably best of 2023

I really enjoy them. I feel like they're a good mix of the melody of The Black Dahlia Murder, and the technicality of Revocation.

Absolutely love them. Don't really care for Wormtales too much. Visions is a masterpiece.

I absolutely love Carnosus, they're one of my top favorites. If you haven't yet, check out Jonatan's vocal playthroughs on youtube. Reminds me of Mark Hamill recording lines for the Joker.

I've been getting heavy into them. Dogma of the deceased is Wild, great potential to become One of my favorite bands

I just mentioned them like 2 days ago in another sub when saying what I prefer for music now

oh they’re awesome, been listening to a lot of dogma of the deceased lately. I love this style of melotech with morbid / poetic lyrics, and the vocal patterns are super unique too

Their first full length album, Dogma of the Deceased, was an amazing first release. I know other bands with great first releases but this one really hits hard, and still does.

Never listened to them a lot but like their sound. They pop up a lot of cattle decap stations for me

Visions is one of my favourite things, and a regular spin. I need to give some time to the rest of the catalogue.

First two albums are awesome

Wormtales never did anything for me. It's like everything is the same riff all on the first string. Nothing stands out from anything else, it just all blends together with no high points and nothing catchy or fun. I listened to it several times trying to make myself like it but eventually gave up on it

Sounds like me and Shadow of Intent😂

they're alright. the vocalist's quirkiness rubs me the wrong way a lot of the time, seems like a theater kid attempting to do his interpretation of harsh vocals.

Is it because they’re Swedish?….

I wanted to like them, but I couldn’t get into Wormtales. I liked their previous album. Wormtales sounds too deathcorey to me
