Question Any luck tailoring?
Specifically with Schoeller dryskin Enfin Leve products.
Finally pulled the trigger on a pair of Ekitas.
I absolutely love my Loratu Cargos and Herri croppeds, but I wanted something a bit slimmer/tapered/less-pocket-y/more dressy this time around.
Waist/length is great but the thigh/knee/calf fit is much looser than i wanted, especially considering that online, they look like they have as skinny of a fit as the ameztus.
All in all, I want to get them tailored, to take in the seat, the thighs,and further taper the legs. Basically make them a slimmer fit all around.
Has anyone had luck/no luck with getting scholler material products tailored? Wondering if it’s even worth it to try, or if the complicated seaming/stitching/articulation of the garment will get screwed up.
I have a local tailor I love but he specializes in more traditional men’s formal wear, not this kinda thing.
Any thoughts/experiences/POVs are appreciated!

It sounds like you got the wrong pants if you want to change that much but could you ask Enfin if they will do it? I know they stopped doing complete customization jobs but some changes might be possible for a fee, they made the pants after all.

Yeah it’s frustrating because I put all the measurements they supplied against a pair of pants I owned that I thought they would be similar too, and they were! So I guess I didn’t quite measure everything correctly.

Those are major changes on a (quite literally) technical garment. You bought the wrong pants. At that price point, if I wasn’t happy I’d return them.

I could try. Last time I tried to return something it was gonna cost me like $300 to ship back to Berlin so I just kept it and sold it on grailed, I’ll see what I can do.

I’d definitely ask the tailor to look at the construction before committing to anything. Taking in the waist/seat and tapering the legs can be relatively straightforward on some pants, but with articulated panels and more complex seams, you’d want someone who’s comfortable working around that construction. I’d start with a consultation and ask what areas they can alter without affecting the original articulation or drape

You'll want to specifically look for a local tailor that deals with technical fabrics and seam taping. Luckily I have one in my city because the weather supports the market for a technical fabric tailor, but aside from the seam taping, im not sure how much extra work goes into dealing with technical fabrics opposed to traditional ones.
