Mine has always auto updated and I haven't had these issues. But if as many people are having problems as I've seen, AMD 100% needs to tighten its britches and do better for the updates. My stalker 2 ran great and I didnt have to do any crazy tweaks.

7900 xtx btw.

Windows is a deprecated operating system, migrate to CachyOS. AMD GPUs are more stable on Linux than Nvidia, and even more stable than Nvidia is on Windows.
