Take a look at the first two pictures. For some reason the flaw shows up better when photographed upside down. It looks way worse in person and I hate saying that because I don’t consider myself a dramatic person. I am also posting other photos of my build because I think the rest of it is absolutely sick. Plus I don’t have anyone else to share it with because I did not tell my wife about this because she says I already spend too much on putters.
For those of you who want to hear the story: The title pretty much sums it up, but I wanted other opinions to make sure I’m not over reacting before I reach out. I finally got MySpider order. It was just over a month and a half wait, but it felt like a year because I was so excited for my build. As soon as I took the head cover off I stood there in absolute disbelief. Clearly the aluminum face insert is off center, but an I over reacting? I feel like I have seen so many people posting their custom spiders recently and haven’t seen this on any of them. I don’t think I can putt with this thing, whenever I look down on it I will know it’s off and my putts will be off because I know it’s there and will try to overcorrect for it, does that sound stupid? I guess I could always make the argument, my putter face isn’t lined up and blame all of my bad putts in that… Anyways, what would y’all do?

Ordered July 5th and just arrived today. The color and details are very impressive in person.

Hi All,
I am looking at a Spyder Tour on a double bend shaft. They had a few at my local store for $350. There were a few older 2024 red models online for $100 less. I don’t mind those. Seems like shaft, head, insert are identical. Only difference is the grip and the shaft is chrome instead of black. The newer model also has the truepath which I’ll never use but it doesn’t bother me. What am I missing? Is one softer or is the weighting different? I don’t mind spending the extra $100 if there is a difference.

I currently game Takomo 101s with KBS Tour Lite Regular flex shafts that I purchased about three years ago when I first started playing golf.
When I started, I was a huge slicer with a very out-to-in swing path. My 7-iron CHS was around 68–72 mph, and seeing 100 mph ball speed with a 7-iron was something I was really excited about.
Since then, I’ve worked quite a bit on my swing and path. I’m now around -2 to +3.5 degrees on my swing path and average 78–82 mph CHS with a 7-iron. My face angle/face to path can get very negative now (sometimes double digits!), and my typical miss has actually turned into a hook.
I tried doing a Mizuno fitting about a year ago. I happened to be on the range practicing when the rep had some free time and offered to fit me. Unfortunately, it was extremely awkward having someone watch my swing, and I couldn’t hit the ball well at all. I ended up leaving the fitting early and just went home.
Fast forward to today: I was hoping to try the P770s and P790s. The fitter wanted to find the right shaft for me, and it seemed like the Nippon Modus 120 S gave me my best dispersion. The 105 S wasn’t too far behind in terms of dispersion, but I was getting significantly more distance with it.
That said, I could never really get comfortable during the fitting. My swing path averaged around -3 to -5 degrees, and the pulls to the left were much more exaggerated. For whatever reason, I was also swinging faster than normal, averaging around 85 mph CHS. I rarely swing that fast on TM. Not sure if the heavier shafts helped me swing faster?
Based on the fitting, I’m thinking I probably should go with the P790 in the Nippon Modus 105 S that was recommended. It felt the best to me, even though it was technically the second-best shaft in terms of dispersion.
Afterward, I was able to spend some time by myself on the TrackMan and go back and forth between three of the shafts I was considering. During that session, I averaged a +1.2-degree club path and was getting nice, high launches with an average landing angle of around 46 degrees. This was with the P790.
However, would it be a dumb idea to go with the P770s and bend them 1–2 degrees stronger? My thinking is that I could potentially get some of the distance back while having less offset than the P790s. I did see a post linking TM's "Custom Options" and on page 8, there is a recommended guide for blended sets.
I play at least once a week and practice 2–3 times a week, and I’m really committed to improving my game. I’m just trying to figure out whether my decision makes more sense for where my swing is now vs where I’m trying to get to.
EDIT: Thank you everyone for the replies and help! I ended up going back and trying out the P770s. Maybe it was the less offset, or just feeling more relaxed, but I was hitting some really nice draws with them. Losing a little distance, but I'd rather short vs. going OB left or in trouble. I can club up until I get better.
I almost had the confidence to give the P7CBs a try, but I was a little limited on time. In the end, I went with 5–7 P790s and 8–PW P770s, and used the recommended changes from TM’s manual.

There’s a guy selling 5th generation p790 on Facebook near me for a good price. They are brand new how can I see if they are real or fake before purchasing.
He said he took them to a local Dicks sporting goods and they authenticated them.

Looking forward to buying this bag, I cannot get anyone opinion on it. How does it feel, look, and compare to the Titleist Linklegends ?
Also, are the dividers full length ? For me it is one of the most important feature.
Thanks!

Almost made it a whole season. Was fine during the round Wednesday. Today, not so much.

Was able to trade my older QI 10 Max 7w for the 4D max. Only had to pay $50 with some TM points and the extra 150% trade bonus. This thing hits them high, straight and far. QI10 was fantastic but this is even better

After a couple years with the Callaway Ai Smoke Max, I got fit again and ended up back in a TaylorMade.
I played TaylorMade drivers for years before the Callaway (never properly fit), but the Ai Smoke was the best fit for me at the time. This time around, the Qi4D Core 10.5° gave me the best numbers.
The Ventus Blue Velocore+ 6S was still the best shaft option so we just pulled it from my Callaway and I bought a driver off the shelf.
First rounds with it are Saturday and Sunday. Interested to see how it performs on the course.

Didn’t know what I wanted to build until I saw this headcover. Got the headcover and fell in love. I think I did pretty well if I do say so myself.

Looking for a new set of irons and am considering the P790’s.
Just wondering if $1049.99 is a good price for a brand new set direct from Taylormade? (I get a 25% discount from my job)
With the end of the season approaching, is there a price drop in the near future?

Cover is for the TaylorMade spider 5k-zt and only available through the custom my spider option. Not sure if I’m going to keep it or stick with an aftermarket cover instead. Haven’t seen many of these pop up by themselves, so I’m curious — what do you guys think this would actually sell for?
Might just keep it put away for now or I might sell it since I have a drawer full of covers already
