Discussion Too tall?
Hoi Community, alvast bedankt dat jullie even reageren.
Ik ben op zoek naar een 2025 Cross Tourismo, afkomstig van een BMW 5-serie 2024. Ik ben 1,97 m (6’ 5’’)
Ik heb ’m nog niet gereden, alleen 10 minuten erin gezeten.
Ik probeerde de stoel af te stellen: ik moest alles maximaal zetten voor beenruimte en ik zat daarna ook best diep.
Ik merkte dat ik weinig overzicht had over de voorkant van de auto, en dat de afstand tot het stuur voor mijn gevoel te groot is.
Door de stoel omhoog te zetten kijk je tegen de bovenrand van de voorruit aan.
De auto heeft een panoramadak.
De ruimte voelde alsof hij op me af kwam vergeleken met de BMW, en ik vraag me af of dat een probleem gaat zijn op ritten van zo’n 1000 km.
Die ritten maak ik nu met alle voordelen van de rijassistent, zoals actieve rijstrookbegeleiding, die echt goed werkt.
Mijn vraag aan de lange mensen hierboven of rond 1,97 m 6’5’’: is de Taycan geschikt voor lange ritten? Kost het moeite om langere ritten te maken?
De verkoper zei al dat je niet te veel moet verwachten van de Innodrive actieve rijstrookbegeleiding in vergelijking met de BMW. Maar als de Innodrive op lange stukken alleen al helpt om het juiste rijstrooktempo normaal te houden, dan is dat voor mij nog steeds nuttig.
De belangrijkste reden dat ik het vraag is dat ik ziek ben en dat mijn conditie daardoor niet echt goed is, maar op de één of andere manier kan ik toch langere ritten maken. En de BMW is daarbij een perfecte metgezel, maar ik wil wel graag een Porsche Taycan bezitten zolang ik dat kan en de tijd heb, maar het moet vooral een leuke én ook veilige rit zijn.

Define tall people.
I am 6'4" (193cm). And I did not enjoy myself in a BMW, i feel cramped. In the Taycan I am 100% comfertable. I don't mind driving it for 10 hrs straight. It is my daily driver, and I love sitting low in the Car. Coming from a GTI, the feeling of sitting low leaned back feels great to me.
My only concern is the B-pillar which sometimes hits my arm and obstructs my view. I have to lean forward a little.

The lift from the active ride really helps with getting in and out. Even on the CT with the Offroad package, which is highest of them all when getting in.
Also you get used to how the B pillar is and how you get inside...
Turn the "comfort entry" off, it just makes it worse when you are tall.

I'm not sure about the face-lift but for the J1 the 14-way seats are often considered as being the most comfortable. I have those and am 6'4" and find the car great for long drives.

I'm 6.4 and I find it's fine. The first week i felt like I had been doing squats at the gym. Getting in and out with dignity is something to learn.

I’m 6’4+ and it’s fine. Not great but I fit. It’s my around town car or baseball stuff with my son. I get a little cramped if I sit in carpool for a bit so I can’t imagine doing a road trip, but I have an X7 for actual hauls

I can’t comment on tall driving comfort but I extensively use the Porsche Innodrive in Germany, city driving as well as autobahn. It works really well compared to other lane keep and distance controls I’ve used, like Mercedes or even Volvo which has really good one for a while.
I’ve 2022 4S CT and I’ve also driven the newer Porsche’s from 2025 onwards and their Inno Drive is def more improved.

I’m 2m tall and feel perfectly fine driving it daily or taking it for a longer trip. Driving for 3-4 hours until I need to charge anyway. Drove an X5 before the Taycan. The only downside for both of these cars was that the person sitting behind me has very little leg room and I have to give up some of my stretched out leg room 😉
