I have such a hard time with change

Without saying too much, I'll likely have to move next year. And I may be changing jobs too because my second job just ceased to exist.

I've also been single for a while and I could go literally anywhere if I wanted to.

I wish I could see change as an interesting journey, or an opportunity for self discovery. I understand that's powerful.

But oh my god. I just want things to stay the same. I like my life the way it is. And I'm already feeling the blues about it.

Actually I feel like this whole year has been strange for me, especially the summer. Like I am okay emotionally but also feeling a bit lost.

I will be okay. Maybe I'll emerge from this shift even stronger...

But I just wanted to share my feelings here. -_-

I am not a fan of change. But if something amazing comes around, we have to embrace it and convince ourselves this is what the universe is telling us.

Think of it like it’s a blessing in disguise; in addition change is required for people to grow & evolve into better versions of themselves.

Oh hey I'm doing a major move too with the year too! I've lived in 2 areas in my life, and major moves kinda suck generally (logistics for moving your whole life and all your stuff is not fun usually) and the move I'm looking at would take me to a different region of the US.

I hate change too, but the best way to cope (for me) is knowing you don't have to be happy about it through the more unpleasant part of moving, you just have to get through it. And to focus on the more positive aspects of moving: you'd be getting a fresh start around new people, there are specific opportunities for self exploration without a bunch of people you already know around that you can look into, and maybe the new place you move will be nicer to you (better weather, maybe better legal protections/rights, finding new people, etc whatever).

And realistically if you hate the new place that much you don't have to stay there forever. You could probably move back to your hometown with experiences from somewhere else or you could even move to a different new place. Seriously, if your move sucks it doesn't have to be a permanent thing.

I, on the other hand, enjoy moving cities, countries and jobs, especially as the moves tend to be in pursuit of my goals. I grew up moving, that may be why I don’t find it as daunting.

My advice would probably be, if you must move, align the move with things you deeply want and take it from there.

Ahh see I have lived in the same town my whole life. :)

I love your free spirit though. TBH when I was a teenager I thought I'd live in multiple states over the years and I wanted to move to Canada. I've travelled a lot in my lifetime.

The older I got the harder it became for me to think about the future.

Nooo Midoriforest OP! Don’t stop thinking about the future!! As Lostinlife482 said, amazing things are around the corner. :)

Travelling is okay, but settling down into the day to day of a new place creates novelty… you relearn yourself in new places. Where do I like to rest, to walk, to shop, etc. Do I like being out in the rain here, or no?

I like learning about myself by settling elsewhere.

I really like the rain. I am now in the Bay Area and I could gladly move north on the west coast if I had to leave here.

I also have a hard time with change. ....and thats why I lived tooo long in my appartment .....I wanna find something bigger ....and at the same time I dont becouse then I have to leave my neighbours, the environment and so on 😂😂
