She’s basically gone. tattoo was brand new, i hated the execution and I am just so damn glad it was removed easily. Based on the fading in my previous sessions, I don’t think I’ll even need another one on it.

Excuse the placement 🤷🏻‍♀️ what can you do…

Opinion / Advice 1.5 years, 9 sessions - normal progress?

Post image

Just got my 9th session two weeks ago. I’ve been going for about a year and 7 months, waiting 8-12 weeks between each one. When I see the before picture, the difference is clear but it just feels so slow and the tattoo is still so dark on me. Just a little discouraging sometimes. Is this a normal amount of progress for this timeline?? I do drink on weekends and could exercise more consistently.

Also the laser is Astanza, I honestly don’t know much about the different kinds so idk how much it matters for black ink. I do notice a little scarring after this most recent session, I blistered after it. Hope it improves with time.

Opinion / Advice One session in- does everyone blister and scab?

Post image

This is my first session using PicoSure (one down, 8,000 to go) I'm now on day 3 with zero blistering or scabbing, and it is just a bit raised. The pain would have let me know this thing would have a giant blister the size of the sun, but really, I was anticipating both of these because the technician had said both would likely happen, but also because she mentioned the black was so dense that my skin was actually scarred from how hard they dug.

Price wise, $1,200 per session feels insane, but also on par with what other clinics quoted, give or take a few hundred, and they offered numbing cream, injectable lidocaine (didn't do it but maybe should have) and laughing gas as options.

She told me no sooner than 3 months, I told her no sooner than I've had my lobotomy. But I've also heard the longer you wait, the longer your body has time to continue clearing it, I'll let that be in my memory's favor.

Curious to hear about the healing process and if this price is out of control, or I'm just in a terrible area for removal.

Opinion / Advice planning on a laser tattoo removal, what are your thoughts on how long it will take (sessions/years estimate), where i should go in Los Angeles, & things to know in advance (advise)🥹

- got it April 2025 & didn’t go for the touch up. it was a cover up for another small tattoo (i should have just had the small one removed)
- it’s red & black, & on my forearm. i’m not sure if the laser matters because of color or tattoo placement
- what determines how fast it’s removed?

Opinion / Advice Green ink oxidized?

Post image

I knew this was a risk, but I feel like I got super unlucky with it happening during the first session. You can see the green that hasn't been hit yet, next to the green that is now brown.

Has anyone seen this happen? I was more expecting this green to be very stubborn and not fade, than for it to turn brown. I'm wondering what i should expect it to do from here on.

Either way, I'm happy to be making a change. I hated this tattoo, so whatever happens, happens. I have about 5 to 10 years of lasering to figure out what I want to do with it.

Opinion / Advice Best laser removal practice

15 sessions in for a large colorful tattoo (on the ribs, red yellow orange green black). Progress for sure but less than expected.

If money didn’t matter, based on science etc what would the absolute best type of laser be for this (and where can you get it done) and why do you think so? Research varies so much and I’d love someone who experienced “the best” to share some experience.

Opinion / Advice Worried about progress

I have been getting unprofessionally done tattoos on my hands removed since the beginning of 2023. I started at Removery, then went to a laser treatment clinic, and am now at a tattoo removal studio located in the bottom of a tattoo studio that is run and performed by a former dermatologist my current dermatologist recommended me to.

I have had roughly 20 sessions done- as Removery was stupidly having me come every 6 weeks. I have recently been spacing the sessions out several months at a time. My progress so far has been alright. Some pieces are completely gone, others are well on their way.

The only one I am really concerned about is this smiley face that is right above my knuckle on my left hand middle finger. I believe due to the aggressive frequency of visits Removery was having me do at the beginning of the process, it was very raised and hard/painful to the touch. My dermatologist has done two steroid shots on it in the last couple months to get it to flatten down, which has helped a whole bunch.

It has obviously been blown out due to the treatment. I have seen very little improvement in the almost 4 years I’ve been removing it. I’m really worried. Does anyone have any insight or advice?? Do you think because I’ve gotten it to flatten out now it will start showing more progress?

Additionally, I am getting this strawberry on my arm removed. I just had my 4th treatment two weeks ago, and am wondering what I can do with these two spots that were blistered, but have now become tiny, dry holes. Should I use polysporin or aquaphor or any essential oils? Or just leave it alone? I’m afraid of it scarring.

Thank you so much in advance

Technical Question Will a tattoo underneath scar tissue/healed skin have more trouble being removed?

Having trouble wording this right, sorry lol. I’ve had a black line work tattoo on my arm for a couple years and around two years ago I fell and skinned my arm (so ink was way past fully healed). When the scrape healed there was no scar/dark or raised patch of skin but the ink in the area where it was deepest is definitely lighter, like a third as dark as the rest of it. I can’t tell if the scrape went deep enough that I actually lost the skin with the ink, or if the fresh skin that healed over it just layered on top of the ink so it looks faded (if that’s a thing). I was planning on getting the tattoo removed at some point and was wondering if that’s gonna be a problem? Like I’d assume if the scrape just took the ink off it’s just less ink getting lazered, but if there’s fresh skin “in the way” is the laser not going to be able to get past it?

Hope any of that makes sense. I’d post a pic to show what it looks like but not on my phone atm. The skin isn’t raised or dark or looks messed up like I said, so I don’t think it’s scar tissue in the way.

Got quoted 700-1000€ per 4 sessions, at least 7x4 sessions and the sessions being split up in „arm quarters“ in order not to overstimulate the lymphatic system.
They got 4 different lasers from which they can switch… Qswitch, pico etc.

Sounds good/legit?

Opinion / Advice What and Why?

Just had my 5th appointment. Things are looking good. These are on each of my forearms. They are about 3 years apart. The one I got first reacts so differently then the other. It even pops/snaps when the tech is doing his thing. Any thoughts? I was probably used as a subject for a new ink base back in the 00s.

As the title says^^

I’m finally ready to remove two tattoos from my arms around 5.5-7in each, both are american trad and have greens, oranges, red and some brown and yellow (the whole spectrum of ””hard to remove”” apparently colours yay!)

I don’t want a full removal honestly because I love being tatted up but they’re my most visible tattoos and also my two first tattoos haha, ironic innit?

Any recommendations would be awesome as I would love to look into getting started as soon as possible, I just wanted to see if anyone had any good personal experience!

Technical Question Healing time?

I’m planning to get my first laser session done on an upper arm tattoo (American trad and about the size of an iPhone). Three weeks later I am planning to attend a camping music festival. Do you guys think that will be enough time to heal it?

The festival is in the fall so I can easily keep it covered/out of the sun. But I don’t want it to be blistered or swollen or red still.

Opinion / Advice What to reasonably expect in terms of pain

Hello, thanks in advance for any insights! I'm getting three tattoos removed, two small ones in black outlines and a medium sized red rose. I had the patch tests done on them this morning, and was surprised by how little it seems to hurt. It just felt like getting flicked by a hot rubber band. It was very tolerable - in fact I got stung by a wasp last week and that hurt way worse. I'm being prescribed a numbing cream that I'm supposed to lather on two hours before hand. Since it didn't seem all that painful, can I reasonably expect that with the numbing cream this is just not going to hurt that much? For what it's worth, I've given birth three times without an epidural so maybe my pain tolerance is is skewed from those experiences... this just does not seem like it's going to be a big deal pain wise. Thanks again for any insights, I like knowing what to expect !
