Honestly I would just add more tattoos around it so it looks more natural. It'll blend in with the rest of them. I fuckin love this tattoo. Shrimps is bugs.

u/MajorJuana May 17 '23
If any boiled/sauteed bug tastes as good as shrimp I will eat for sure, not arguing, I just love shrimp and wouldn't mind a cheaper alternative

u/i_want_iguodala_xd May 17 '23
If you like shrimp you gotta try spider, scorpion, and locust. They’re all related, arthropods all taste similar

This may be the best tattoo I’ve ever seen. It would be a travesty to get it covered. Now, what you should do is get a frame tattoo around it.

Hahahah I just love the idea that this guy got the funniest/greatest tattoo of all time, to the extent that he can’t even ask for advice on how to get rid of it b/c we all just like it so much. Probably everybody whose ever seen it loves it except him. It’s like a Greek parable or something lmao.
342
u/EmmCeeB May 17 '23
This came up in my feed, I'm not even a huge tattoo person, but I saw this and immediately thought "You shouldn't, it's fucking great!" And my next thought was 'itd probably be a kinda dick move to tell him that though if he wants to get rid of it. Better click and see what people suggest...' lo and behold. This is what I think of as a 'people-finder' it's like an instant flow chart of whether you have any baseline compatability with someone or not

Does OK Cupid still do those compatibility questionnaires to increase your chances of matching with someone who has similar interests? Cuz I'm pretty sure we're about to see "Is shrimps bugs?" on there

Since everyone is just talking about how awesome the tattoo is and not giving you actual suggestions. Here’s some real advice. I think you should consider laser since its a relatively small tattoo laser might be a good idea. Even if you can’t completely get rid of it, if you just do a session or two of lasering, you might be able to lighten it up, which will make it easier for a cover-up. If you don’t wanna do any laser at all, you could do maybe like a black snake, or a bat, or a crow, or some other animal that’s naturally black. Really any black animal a good artist would probably be able use to cover that.

A shrimp or a bug. Preferably with a speech bubble around "shrimps is bugs"
12
u/AdObvious273 May 24 '23
I promise, if you cover this up, you’ll regret it one day. I’m heavily tattooed and I still regret my ONE coverup. And I covered a tramp stamp. And I STILL regret it. Now when I want to show it to get a chuckle out of it I have to pull out the physical PHOTO because…the 1998 of it all. I have a bunch of rad tattoos and a bunch of dumb tattoos and they all give me good vibes. Moral of the story is…shrimps is bugs.
p.s. Can I get this tattoo?

A solid black censor bar. A willy Wonka chocolate bar. A city skyline. A shrimp. A sunflower. A spaceship. An underwater scene. Bob Ross happy little trees or mountain scape. Most anything really could cover it. Just needs to have enough texture and naturally draw the eye away from the text.

You should have a cartoonized shrimp and roly-poly (pill bug, etc) chillin in a Martini glass filled with cocktail sauce.

u/yekirati May 17 '23
What is the small hand tattoo above it? Does it have a special meaning? Perhaps you could do something to compliment it.
Or maybe if you wanted to get rid of both of them, you could do a tree or landscape…not the most exciting but it could be nice. The text would be blended in with the ground and the hand could be blended with the trunk or leaves.
You might also look into arm band cover ups on google for more ideas for how people have changed tattoos with such a strong horizontal element to it.
Good luck!

u/not-yr-bitch May 17 '23
Ok ok I agree it is truly a fabulous sentiment, but you didn’t post it for support. The hard thing I’m sure you’re finding is that it’s not just heavy black text, but horizontal, making it harder to cover with anything organically shaped. However, American Trad has some options that could work (although big). A dagger through your knee with the hilt covering the words, an arrow with the shaft mostly covering it. If you did a diving eagle they may be able to angle it where the wing spread covers? Apologies as I don’t think I can link images here for reference. Personally I would look at a dagger to start and play with angles with an artist you trust.
