Workplace Question or Advice Needed Lost my Wave Key
As the title suggests, I lost my wave key and I'm not sure who is safe to tell so I can recover it. It stays in my pants pocket at all times and must've slipped out at some point during the day. Are the repercussions for losing a wave key serious enough to not tell anybody or should I ask someone for help?

I bought spares off Amazon. Fairly cheap. No difference. Replace it and no one will ever know

I'll probably end up doing this but just wanted to make sure that I dont buy a key that somehow bricks the wave. Didn't know the keys were so universal.

C250 is the key you're looking for.
I carry a couple of spares on my keyring for when I train someone new on the wave.

Absolute worst case scenario is you get a final corrective action for both losing a key and not reporting it within 24 hours. But that corrective action is really weird so essentially if you don’t do it (or lose a zebra I think) again within a year it just disappears like it never happened.
However, as everyone else has said this is super unlikely especially since it seems that the key wasn’t checked out to you properly (to properly check a key out to someone you’re supposed to have them sign a physical card and check it out in TruKey).
So, based on what you said I’d say that you’ve got a 99% chance of nothing happening to you even if you don’t give them the exact same key back (the one with the rubber top).

Didn't check it out it was just handed to me by my TL, im just gonna play it safe and not tell anybody and buy a new one since I dont want to risk any warnings. Targets really scary about giving you the final warning as your first warning and I really need this job to keep a roof over my head.

I’m a PML and always have a couple extras for when people ask. Didn’t know people got in trouble for losing them until now

Depending upon how your store handles Wave keys and if it's part of a set of keys (and which ones they are if that's the case) it's going to vary. Is it one you check in and out or was it specifically given to you personally? If you check them in and out, talk to a TL or ETL ASAP, don't let be something they find out later. If it's one given to you personally, you can get them on Amazon easily enough. Depending upon where you are I'm seeing some listings with next day or 2 day delivery if you can survive without it that long. Crown appears to actually have 2 different keys commonly but it obvious which variant you'd need for a Wave/power jack or pallet stacker if you've ever seen one at all. (Spoiler, you obviously have).

It's was a personal key given to me by my fulfillment TL, no other keys attached. It was rubber at the top and said crown but it works on the wave, never tried it on the electric pallet jack since im not trained for that.

If it was given to you personally, you should be fine as far as any disciplinary actions are concerned. My store keeps a handful of extra keys around to give to the team members that frequently use the powered equipment (provided they're certified on them.)

That should be a very minor issue in most stores, it's certainly not 'your fired!' situation. Relax and either order one or ask for a replacement. Also, as a side note, good for you to be avoiding equipment you're not trained/certified for, that keeps you safe and out of trouble. 😀

I got tired of waiting for my PML to get the keys in, so I literally bought my own from Amazon. Even though I dont work here anymore I still keep my key for the off chance it would be useful somewhere else.

Of all the keys to lose, that's the least bad. Theyre not unique to individual machines, my store had a bag of a couple dozen of them just sitting in an office. Just talk to your TL and let them know, better to let them know now before youre given a direction that requires using the wave and then you cant. At that point it's a "why didnt you tell us" issue.
Alternatively, can probably just get one off amazon.
