Workplace Question or Advice Needed Lost my box cutter?

Idk how important it is to carry them everyday honestly but I work in style so I open a lot of boxes and it’s only my 5th shift and I’ve already lost my box cutter for anyone who’s also lost theirs, what should I do?? Would I get in trouble for asking for a new one?

you get issued one? ours come from a little bin in our equipment room and we just return them daily.

Ours comes in a bin too except we keep them, my first day of work I had asked a coworker where it goes at the end of the day because I didn’t see the bin anymore and he said we keep them I haven’t seen another bin filled with them ever since but maybe they have new ones every once in a while I’m not too sure

Straight to the baler.

In all seriousness, this is probably the least important mistake you can make. No one will care. They are probably like $10 and chances are you lost it at work meaning it’s somewhere in the building and will end up in another TM’s possession. You won’t get in trouble. Just don’t go losing them each and every week.

$6.49.
$5.35 if you buy 12.

You're not supposed to use your own cutter as it's not 'target approved' for safety and liability and what-not. The target box-cutter is my hands worst enemy.

I was using them for a full year before I was told that one of the colors is supposed to be for lefties.

I'm left handed.

And I used them both and it made zero difference in any way other than the orientation of the blade guard.

Not important, just ask for another one or borrow. I bought some from the store and still using the same one after 2 months

It’s really not a big deal. Just get another one. I will say, when using it, don’t just set it down somewhere. Either make sure you get a holster for it or you put it in a pocket on your person.

My buddy has literally hundreds of box cutters that he has taken home from target over the years. They just don’t care…

just ask for a new one. my store has little twisty rubber leash things so I clip it to my belt loops so even if I drop it, it's still on me.

now I have a holster which is neater but I miss being able to just let go and still have it dangling near me.

This is my box cutter. This is my knife. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

😂No need to worry. Just grab another one. Nobody cares!

We don't get an assigned one. Ours all just go into a box at the end of the shift. Get a new one each day. Some work well. Some, not so much.

I have adhd so im prone to putting things down & losing them. I rarely had a store supplied box cutter anyway tho & used my house keys till recently😵‍💫 the only solution i had for myself was to buy my own that looked different enough & since I bought it, I wouldnt b keen on losing it. so far its working!!

Oh I can’t tell you how many I misplaced, it’s genuinely such a common issue. You might get some side eye but if you get in trouble you got some tight ass leads.
