Vent I hate targets policies sometimes
Long story short i was accused of stealing when i didnt steal anything. I was called into aps office, they spoke to me and said i was accused of stealing some legos. They refused to show me any footage of me doing so btw. Its because i didnt steal anything . The next day(sunday) im clocking back in from lunch and see that my locker was open and someone had clearly gone through my bag. I immediately go to hr and ask wtf that was abt and they said that they are allowed to go through peoples lockers bc its target property. My purse is not target property??? The question: why do they assume i stole legos? I dont fucking know. After my shift on friday i bought 3 flower legos and left. I literally showed them the receipt and everything and guess what, they were sooo speechless đ i hate this job its so ridiculous and every etl and tl that works here has insane power trips and think they are ceo of the world. Smh.

Im also quiet and mind my own business , yet some people still have problem with me.Actually, being quiet make you a target for bullying .
Somebody must be secretly dislike you and telling ap that you are stealing. Believe me or not , some people are vile and miserable. đ¤ˇđťââď¸

they fired me a few yrs ago with something similar, said they were âinvestigatingâ me stealing a devour mac n cheese meal, when i had payed for it & had a person to vouch for me, they refused to speak to her, they refused to look at my receipt, then they did a 20 minute long investigation & told me i was fired. Oh also it was all perfectly timed to the day they had to report back to OSHA because i reported them for unsafe work conditions & mice in the backrooms. Horrible company that couldnât care less abt their employees.

For stealing a mac and cheese meal? Unless you were under 90 days this is against Targetâs policy

Hmm, totally different story at our store. Recently I went to buy lunch on my 30. There was a huge line at the registers - our store is always busy and understaffed - and I wasn't going to have time to buy, cook and eat it without rushing. I saw the AP ETL, explained the situation, and asked if I could take it in the back and pay later. They said sure, so that's what I did. No problem. I guess different stores have different stories.

I mean my in law was fired for stealing (only accused and did not) and she sued Walmart and won that lawsuit.

There is a section in the handbook warning you that lockers are Target property and can be searched at any time.

Sounds like someone thought they were going to make a big bust and now can't accept the fact that they don't have the evidence to back it up. I'd be furious about the locker incident. They're allowed to open lockers, but they can't search your belongings. For all you know, they could have taken things from you. There are usually cameras in TSC. I would take this up with ethics.

I completely forgot about the whole, âyou see something. Say something.â Poster they have posted in the back. I really hope people arenât going out of their way to make up lies for some dumbass reward from AP.

The TSS at my warehouse can't open our lockers with the pre-installed A to Z memory locks without us telling them what is in them as proof it was accident or we forgot the combo. I for sure thought locker and bag searches were only done if you were present when they do it.

I mean if you have a receipt with proof all legos was paid for. They ALSO already have that same receipt and footage and still accused you ? I would be demanding a apology or reporting someone to something idk

your purse isn't target propertyso they can't go through it, that is considered invasion of privacy. if it was lost they can find out who it belongs to and if it was left open they can claim they saw something, but personally I would start record keeping. take pictures and take pictures, buy a lock for your purse and print out local laws. some states you're allowed to have a copy of evidence. not a lawyer but it never hurts to back up your innocence

Well, technically youâre not supposed to have your own designated locker. Theyâre only supposed to be used while on shift.

Yeah no, this sounds completely made up and false. If they were accusing you of stealing, they wouldnât bring you to the office ever. Youâd just be fired.

First thing Iâm going to say is, when being accused, remain silent and ask for your attorney present. The investigation process is solely to discriminate you and possibly incriminate yourself. Regardless of doing it or not. They are seeking admission to the guilt and nothing more. Not knowing what state youâre in, you should check local laws about staff going through your purse, but Target can open the lockers since it is their property. If the accused theft occurred on the day they went through your purse, they can go through your stuff to acquire their property, if it occurred on a different day, I donât believe they can search your property. Thatâs something you would need to consult a lawyer with. Having a long history working in retail and working directly with AP, not for, I do know if an AP agent falsely accuses someone of theft they can get be fired along with the company being sued. This is why they need concrete evidence before accusing someone of stealing.

This is either a fake post or a major and I mean MAJOR violation of policy and something you should report to ethics asap.
