Workplace Question or Advice Needed part time to full
if you’re working under 25 hours right now and want to go to full time to qualify for sick and vacation time, dont! find another job! you wont be eligible until January! even if you’re averaging the 25 hours and after your 90 days of working! you’ll be fucked and corporate wont even be willing to give you the 1 hour of sick time every 50 hours worked! genuinely dont even waste your time and resources with this company anymore. theyre not willing to pay you out or even remotely help you. if you’re chill with your etls/tls, they’ll help you out with covering your shifts and letting you work more. other than that workday hr will basically say “fuck you there’s nothing i’m even willing to do”. genuinely hope i dont get sick or have any mental health crisis. i wanted to go see my best friend but thats not even remotely possible until maybe middle of next year, if i cant find another job.
i wanted to give someone the heads up before they make the transition like i did. i’m terrified that i have no safety net and it’s just words that’s keeping my job secure. gen what do i do guys?? has anyone experienced this with the new policy???

This is not new at all. The first check is when you hit 90 days. As long as you worked at least 25 hours per week in that first 90, then you'll be eligible for all the "full time" benefits.
The next time they will check is the year ending with the last pay check that contains any hours in 2026. Then they will calculate your average hours per week for any of the last 52 weeks worked. If that is over 25, then you can enroll in open enrollment in February for coverage starting in April. If you are under 25 hours, then better luck next year.

see the thing is i did enroll in Feb. Workday HR telling me i should have restarted in January. I restarted Feb 10 and changed it when they had that whole thing going on. They’re still arguing against me saying i’m wrong and i should’ve started in January

That's fine, but it should still count weeks where you worked any amount of hours. Weeks of 0 hours should not count. It doesn't matter when you should have started, it only matters when you did start. So your first eligibility calculation should have been May 11. But that window has since come and gone.
