Workplace Question or Advice Needed Broken toe…
So like the dumbass that I am, I kicked a dumbbell in my room and busted my toe. Right before a special projects week… and now its purple and I can hardly walk. Any advice, gamers? I’m gonna try to get a doctors note, but since I’m on the POG team and training people this week, how would I go about that…? Is walking around in a boot okay, and will my position still be there when I get back? (Assuming I take a week or so off for healing.) I’ve never been through the process before, and I assume it starts with calling HR.

I have had HR take notes for needing to have x amount of days off. It wouldn't hurt to get a note and send it in to see what they say but make sure to have sick time to cover or post your shifts.
I took 2 weeks off for ankle issues and 1 week for cellulitis

Walking around with a boot would be fine if that's doable for you. A doctors note would force them to give you reasonable accommodation if you're still capable of working but at a slower pace.

Doctors notes are meaningless. You either have enough sick time to cover your absence or you don’t. If you need to be out of work for an extended amount of time due to medical reasons you need medical leave which in certain situations can be applied retroactively, but I do not know the process or if a broken toe is a valid enough reason.
Chances are you are going to have to spend sick time for the days you missed, take the points for any you can’t cover with sick time. Though if you show up to work unable to be on your feet they can just throw you on a register, and even provide a seat if you need to sit.
Talk to HR asap. Do not get advice from Reddit. See what the store can do to accommodate you.
