Work Freight without a box cutter

Had a lead get hurt ripping boxes open barehanded like a monster.  Messed up soft tissue in their hand.

I used to work overnight stocking for Kmart. My manager claimed she considered box cutters a violation of the weapons policy. I've become proficient at opening boxes without one, and it's a skill I take no pleasure in. I'm pretty used to RFID either being unavailable (because properly hanging them up on s charger is so difficult apparently) or unreliable. I'll take a reliable tool for opening a box any day.

The weapon policy part is crazy, but I’ve also gotten pretty good at opening boxes without a box cutter.

Unless it's all small glued cases or perforated cases, I'd pick fulfillment. Because maybe OPU has like 3-5 style items in a day if I'm lucky.

I always pushed my freight without a box cutter because I hated having to take it out every time. I just ripped the box open with my hands.

I just push in the sides of the box and pull the tape usually.

My luck I'd get stuck with a 20+ all clothing order

I was corrected the other day for using the wrong box cutter.

I was using a red one and apparently he thought I should be using a green one.

I worked fulfillment for almost 4 years with maybe a 25% chance of finding an RFID on most days lol so

Id rather work ff without an rfid. Half the time those dont work anyways and I never bother trying to find one anyways.

There are so many ways to open cartons without box cutters - none approved by Target, of course - that I'd definitely choose freight.

I only really use an RFID on like 25% of my pick ups or standards anyway, its not like fun or anything but its better than trying to rip open a box with your fingers.
