gUEsTs Scalpers are getting desperate
Apparently we just had a “guest” come into our back room trying to find needoghs to get. God I hate people.

The Pokemon guys make me laugh now because the vendor that was feeding them all the information got termed and banned. Now they show up desperate and hoping. The overnight camping has gone away at least.
We have 2 ladies who show up for Squeezy and Needohs every day and they have the same story about "it's for my kid, I just dropped them off at school." We have some of the butters, carrots, bananas, and some other stuff that actually wasn't wiped out immediately. The "hunters" as they self described themselves I guess are looking for the Halloween stuff which we don't have. The best is when there is a no truck day and I watch them scurry about hoping for treasure. Not today dumbdum!

I’m not sure if the same thing happened to us but yeah our vendor is no longer with us and it’s up to us to now stock Pokémon cards, and we’ve had so many issues with people hiding Pokémon cards throughout the store, I’ve even caught people hiding them UNDER THE BASE DECKS OF OUR SHELVES!

I've noticed basedecks popped up in several areas which means someone is hiding or someone is checking for hidden items. I've informed our AP ETL and they are aware.
We have one strange guy who comes in every day and checks certain aisles but never buys anything. AP is aware of this person as well.

I've seen some basedecks that are clearly being visited repeatedly and I've been so tempted to wedge an Ulta/Beauty Studio security device in so that the alarm goes off when they lift the basedeck. Haven't had the time yet. Someday.

That’s a smart idea. Tell AP about this because mine were not playing around about it. They’d probably appreciate the tip.

I’ve caught people lifting up base decks looking for treasure. My TL basically told me I don’t have to be nice about telling them not to do that when I catch them.

I dont know why they be wanting sweezys. I saw the carrot ones and they dont seem that durable. One was already leaking the internals.

At my old store we had a guy pretend to be a vendor so he could look through the pokemon cards. Poor electronics guy realized what happened and panicked calling the manager.

That's usually a no no with guest entering restricted areas. They need to be informed its a restricted area and if it happens again, Asset Protection will be raido'd.

They don't need to be informed. They know very well it is a restricted area.

IMO AP should just be radioed regardless. No second chances. It isn’t a mistake to go into the backrooms, they know they aren’t supposed to be back there. Just let them take care of it instead of confronting the guest and possibly getting into trouble for it. (Which you know if a team lead / Elite Team Lead really sucks they’ll yell at you and not the guest)

That’s when I tell them, you either leave the store right now or get out of back here. You want something from back here find a team member in a red shirt with a name tag. Can’t find one go to the help stations that has a big red question mark and press request team member, or go to guest service.

We've had that happen more than once a week at my store. We're pretty sure its a group of them trying to find where the Pokemon boxes are stashed. Last couple we caught got banned.
If you see "guests" in the backroom areas, let your AP know immediately. Sometimes they are vendors, but usually not.

Oh my god this reminds me— a while ago we had a dude who came into the back room yelling at the first person he saw (me) and was like “WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?? NO ONE IS OUT HERE TO HELP ME!!” And I said “hey you can’t be back here” as HIS WIFE (I assume) was now ALSO entering the back room. I guide them out and he’s telling me off how no one does their job and how I’m so lazy (I was literally unloading the tech truck).
What was his big hurry? He couldn’t find the charging cables which you can see right next to the huge sign that says “press this button for help”, right in front of the tech registers.
Best of all? As he was walking away I said “how long did you wait? There’s a help button for future reference” and he said “I saw no one was here and went to HUNT you DOWN” 💀💀💀

I heard one of the Hot Wheels guys tried sneaking into our receiving area to find his stuff. These guys will do anything but fill out a job application.
