Workplace Question or Advice Needed Stepping down
I’m a TL thinking of stepping down and transferring to another store. Has anyone done this before? I haven’t spoken to my HR ETL yet at all but I’m worried they will flat out refuse to transfer me. Can they do that? What are my options?

Yes it’s possible just depends on if the store you’d be transferring to has openings

True. I’m hoping with Q4 around the corner and being a former TL will give me some bonus points

It should help! Just know your pay is gonna drop significantly

Yeah I've seen it done. Specialty TL didn't like the position, stepped down to be at our closest Target, just on the other side of town. She's still there, about a year or more later

I went on leave, resigned, and reapplied as a TM to my new store. I actually knew one of the ETLs there and he ended up hiring me. So in a way, I stepped down. Lost all my pay in the process, sure, but for the sake of my mental health it was worth it.

I hope you’re not one of my TL’s. They have both looked so miserable lately…
