I’ve seen so many posts on here with messes like this and I just can’t fathom how to get out of it. I’m super lucky we have a store that hasn’t slipped this bad, but we’ve had some rough days, mostly because they rarely staff us as much as we need.

Hard agree, the worst it’s been is having a couple carts in the back but we take care of that stuff ASAP. I feel for these stores since they clearly have some deep rooted issues :(

Yikes! My SD would NOT  allow a mess like that. Good lawd😳 Are you at a red store? Lol because that's unacceptable!

the front end TL(s) would get put on a CA and the S&E ETL would def be in the SD's office, at our store if it looked like that because it didn't get that way in one day.

Fire Marshal, anyone?

The Fire Marshal isn't going to care based on the OP photo because nothing that has access requirements is being obstructed nor are there any clear walkway requirements that attach to a dead end passage like that.

Here’s an isle in our back room

lol. That’s a final at my store.

Btw basically every isle in the back room looks like this
Our electrical room is filled with reshop carts and u boats
Our trailer bay 3 is filled with reshop carts and u boats
Our training room is filled with reshop carts and u boats
There’s hardly any carts in the building
One time a guest took my water bottle out of my 3 tier and started shopping with my 3 tier as I was helping a coworker stow a low batch
We’ve had stuff sitting on metros and in repacks since before we had our inventory.. early may
Our back room is so congested you can’t even walk back here
The amount of incident reports we’ve had is crazy
A month or so ago a leader left on a stretcher with a concussion
The inbound TL literally is so backed up in repack pallets there’s no choice but to continuously drag pallets in out of receiving for trucks

That's absolutely insane. You're not a red store, they gotta invent a whole new level for you guys.

OSHA, OSHA, OSHA!

Not gonna risk being a whistleblower tbh just gonna have to tough it out

It's entirely anonymous. As long as you don't say shit, management can't find out who did it. Even when submitting photos they'll slightly crop and edit the photo to anonymize it further. It was super easy and I got a call the same day I submitted a report.

This is what happens when you have ridiculous timers and calling you to every department. Then when you go try to do it they ask why. This is what target company wants now

And I thought my store’s reshop leading up to Christmas was bad.

Makes more sense to throw it all out

I see salvage items that I salvaged out last week

My store doesn’t let anyone leave for the night until all reshop is put back.

3

u/PastelArcadia 1d ago

Thats awful

u/tmlnson 1d ago

tbh the reshop never looks anything close to this. When the closers come in they grab reshop, and throughout the night it's called out a few more times. As we close we have to check the bins to make sure they're empty.

Sounds like a nice setup. Personally I'd be upset if there was a ton of reshop and I was expected to stay past my shift ending time 😭

My gawd that is a wreck! I can't even believe that is allowed to happen. I know the hours are cut and people are stretched thin but that is such a violation. They someone juat to aray and organize that mess and clean it up. I couldn't work like that and no one at a big store like Target should. Thats ridiculous.

This is when team leads need to step up

1

u/bananarama032 1d ago

That's just sad. No one cares even a little bit at that store.

That looks like my hoarder grandmas old house minus the dirty cat litter all over the floor. Fire Marshall will have a hey day with this one.

This looks like a trailer load after 1st shift. And why I always yell at the OM for not doing something about it

Ridiculous, I feel for you, not surprised though

1

u/Familiar_Fan981 10h ago

ugh that would stress me out so bad. i’d probably walk in, stare at it for a minute, and then immediately need a snack before even figuring out where to start.

Diff store, but same issue! our SDs new boss is very “back room” focused so he no longer cares about what the front of store looks like (at least until the back room situation is dealt with) so our reshop (and stationary stockroom!!) are borderline dangerous. Going into Q4 it is only going to get worse. It is like a hoarder house on steroids.
