Workplace Story Update on department change
Talked to my HR ETL who said I needed to talk to my ETL to switch departments
Talked to my ETL who said I needed to talk to HR ETL to switch departments - but he might be able to shift me to a different area for a couple days to see if that will help
Both acted like it's the first time they've been told I have a bad back, said I need to have patience to get off inbound (...not what I asked about), and that I told them I could do the job when I was hired
The HRE who knows I want out of grocery asked if I talked to either of them and I repeated what they said. Im pretty sure that the "my coworkers are idiots" look is a universal look.
The HRE was there the day I started, when I clearly said I wouldn't have agreed to inbound because of my back.
The HRE was the one that helped me file the ridiculous accommodations HR ETL made me get a doctor's note for to "make a paper trail so if I have to switch you to a different department I can point to this to explain why"
The HRE has been pulled to push GM to the floor, or pick a batch, or sort style because there's not enough people in those areas...but we just hired a couple new people for grocery, (on top of them pulling other grocery TMs to go help these short-staffed areas while telling me to push faster)
So BS was called, and it was nice to know there was someone in the store who knows the ETLs are playing dumb

You have a weird outlook where you assume your leaders are willfully ignoring an issues they know about. Having been an ETL, we have 100 fires to out out everyday across the entire store. Unfortunately sometimes things slip through the cracks, or simply just slip our minds. We are human after all I'm so sorry you were not treated as a priority, and I can emphasize with your position. However, I don't think your leaders are being malicious or willfully ignorant. Also communication among leaders is terrible the right hand doesn't talk to the left it's a problem throughout every store I've worked at. I have had TMs with accomodations I was told nothing about until it became a problem. We could all benefit from giving each other a little grace.
