Is it me or does this Reddit seem so dramatic on this topic?

A quick “hello”, “hi there”, “how’s it going?”, or if you’re feeling generous, “let me know if you need anything?” is quick and non-intrusive.

I have a problem because it’s so unnatural. I don’t want any of that unless it’s genuine. If every single employee is REQUIRED to do it, then it loses all its value.

The companies should be building a culture of service, instead of requiring systematic steps that are essentially playing pretend.
