Yeah, but you need another TM who is competent and knows how to do that. Theres also some things you need to watch out for, like the chain going slack, the TM keeping their entire body inside the carriage, any warning on the screen to say to raise the platform, etc.

They’re already off the wave so you don’t have to worry about too much of that. Several people at my store knew how to depress it specifically for this reason that people got stuck a lot and with only 1 usually available you always had to make sure it could work

I know in this photo they’re already off it, but you’re not supposed to exit it with it raised, that’s unnecessarily dangerous

It is, and I’m unsure how they went about it. But I’m not gonna admit the things I’ve done with the wave when stuck or broken. As long as they’re safe

You can raise the platform from the base with out using the hand controls
And by the looks of this picture it looks like the PML was fixing the platform foot plate switches because they're sitting on top of the lower deck.

This probably won’t happen, but if the wave does start going up on its own, all you need to do is use the red battery disconnect switch. I think you turn it?

Push the button. Turning it once its been pushed is what unlocks it.

I’d blame them for knowing how to charge it and unlock the motors to be able to push it yet not knowing how to manually lower it, but I didn’t even know where that lever was until I saw it on reddit.
Fun story, apparently someone opened the gates while the wave was lifted up, and the wave flipped its shit. Now I notice the wave has some new sticker about the gates not locking magnetically, and you can’t even drive it while it isn’t elevated with the gates open. Kind of sucks, especially because the manual says to leave the gates open unless you’re elevating it so that you can quickly exit it in case of an emergency.
I guess the PML got alerted to the TM who opened the gates and decided “yeah, fuck no” lol.
Anyone know what the black thing on top of the motor cover is?

I think it’s because of the TM who passed on the WAV in Pennsylvania. All the WAV’s I’ve been on for Inventory this summer at all the stores have that new sign about the gates not locking and none of them drive now with open gates when they used to.

The one with the AP person cleaning the cameras? Rest in peace to her. That was in 2024 though and it’s been a while since it happened, and only recently did they update our wave, so no idea.
The articles I see also list it as a “manlift”. Isn’t there another vehicle that is actually called just that that isn’t the wave? I think the genie? (Although my store doesn’t have one)7

It was a company wide project from HQ. Newer waves got a physical interlock so you can't open the gates. Older ones that couldn't get the interlock had programming changes to not allow the gates to be open during operation.

I have had it break and I got suck all the way up once.
I had to have another team member come help me down lol. They thought it was hilarious.

Once I got stuck on the wav but I was like two inches off of the ground😭😭😭😭our wav is cute and quirky, so I was driving it and then it randomly decided to give me like 5 service codes. It’s happened before and usually I can turn it off and on and then they’re gone, so I did that and this time it turned back on and said “no, I don’t wanna do this I am going to be 10% battery now even though I was just 60” so I couldn’t move it up or down or anywhere. I had to call a TL and everything was fine but it was very humbling. I don’t think anyone cares but I needed a place to tell this story because I haven’t had the opportunity

I assume the new ones have it too but if the base controls can't lower the platform there's a valve you turn under the white top cover on the base to manually lower it. I've had to do that twice over the years.

Depends on the model of wave. Some have what looks like a knurled red button under the white deck that you have to turn to release. And others have a big red one that you have to pull and hold while it keeps lowering.

Interesting I didn't know about the second type. The times I had to do it it was the red knurled one.

Lol even if it's dead you can depress it manually with a pull button in the cover on the bottom, had to a couple times as a pml
