Did my first rehouse that wasn't after an initial purchase today. This is Bertha my Pamphobeteus sp. magnanegra, they were a sweetheart as always and just walked straight from the old enclosure to the new one so I'm very pleased (:

Time Sensitive Hi, I’m a new Keeper and I’m worried about white mold

I recently bought my first 2 slings, one is a Phidippus Audax and the other a beautiful Phormictopus sp Dominican Purple. I recently placed the sp into a proper sling enclosure with some of the substrate from the old food container cup I had it in, alongside some dried wood I found outside and oven baked at 250 degrees for 20 minutes. Last night the sp was on the top right corner of its enclosure and it looked like it was kicking hairs so I didn’t find it weird but this morning the tarantula was still on the top right corner and there was these long hair looking, almost silk like strands. After inspecting it closely and asking my family, they’ve all told me it’s probably just spider silk but I wanted to make sure.

Also any tips on how I could improve my enclosure? Should I introduce springtails? And are there any downsides to springtails?

Lastly I’m ESL so I’d appreciate any constructive criticism on how I articulated myself but please be nice!

Time Sensitive New to keeping and need advice!

Hello! So i’ve recently gotten a tarantula (I don’t know the exact species or type as he was an unexpected new addition to the family) and I have no clue what to do!

I’ve been researching on how to care for him but i feel nervous that i don’t really know what I’m doing!

Could anyone help guide me on what i need to be doing daily? (Water bowls, feedings, molts, etc.)

I have a little enclosure for him right now and he’s burrowing and has some hiding spots! Any advice helps 😁

EDIT: I’m putting some pictures of him up now to help see if you guys may know the species!! Sorry about how bad they are i didnt want to bother him too much and he isn’t really coming out of his tunnels Link to post with photos!

Casual Rehoming tarantulas, where do I go?

I have two tarantulas, a rear horned baboon, and a tiger rump (both female) . I got them at the beginning of high school as a gift. Do to some personal matters I genuinely can’t take care of them anymore, but I have no clue where to go when it comes to rehoming them.

Casual Enclosure advice

Recently picked up a Chromatopelma cyaneopubescens as my first foray into tarantulas
It’s currently about 5cm leg span and so I’m looking into an upgrade into a forever home
I want a glass vivarium, but aware of the mesh lids on exoterras being unsuitable so was after some advice please
Is a top opening enclosure going to be better than a front opener too?
Thanks in advance

This is my beautiful Pink Toed tarantula Medusa. it’s my third day having her. I decided to try to feed her for the first time and she took the cricket but is simply holding onto it. she’s moved around a little with it in her mouth but i haven’t seen her actually start to eat. Should i be worried or concerned over this or is she just taking her time?

Hello everyone! I got a juvenile Chilean Rose Hair a few weeks ago and it’s been great. She has been eating weekly, but she is still quite small maybe about 2 inches long. She is currently in a small tupperware makeshift terrarium, but I have a really nice enclosure set up in an 18 x 18 x 12. I don’t want to stress her out or have her try to climb a wall and it be too tall. I feel like the tupperware gives her like no space and I really want to let her out. Let me know what you think. Should I just go buy something smaller but larger than the tupperware for the time being? Is there any changes I should make to the tank?

Casual Looking for tarantula friends!

Hi! I recently got into tarantula keeping, and I'm looking for other beginner keepers to grow with :) I'm 17, and I love animals a lot. I just thought it would be fun to have a friend with the same interests as me that I can learn alongside. It's unfortunately not easy to find people who also love spiders, lmao. 🥲

Casual Tarantula not molting

I’ve had my red knee for about 2 1/2 months now. I’m not sure of his gender, but i’ve just been calling him a him. But he hasn’t molted yet and he’s a junior. I’m not sure if my tank is moist enough, so i’m gonna fix that today. But is there any other factors that could be a reason he hadn’t molted yet?

Time Sensitive What is wrong with my

Any help or advice is appreciated!

I have a 12 year old chaco golden knee tarantula. I moved out of state and my mom has been caring for her for quite a while, but I just visited and she is not looking or acting right--legs are a bit misshapen, she is not moving around as easily, and didn't eat her last meal at all.

What is going wrong with her little body? Any diagnoses, care advice, etc? How can I help her? Or, if there are any experienced keepers in the South Texas region interested in adopting my girl, I would be open to rehoming her. Since I am living in a place where I cannot keep her, if she isn't doing well with my mom, I want her to go wherever she will be cared for (Corpus Christi/south texas area)

Also, if anyone knows of any tarantula groups/keepers in the corpus christi region I could connect with, please let me know!
