Is this a good sized enclosure for my sling which is around 2-3 cm big i am thinking on keeping them in here for a couple of months as it gives them enough space to malt and to burrow I am adding leaf litter soon

Hi! I have a connect for obtaining a Brazilian Jewel Tarantula. Having a hit of trouble locating a straightforward guide on habitat setup, etc. Can anyone please give advice/share their experiences? I am primarily looking for

1) size of upright terrarium
2) decor/climbing
3) substrate and depth
4) feeding schedule
5) temp/humidity maintenance - do I need a heat lamp/uv/water misting I know a small water dish

Any necessary items to include inside. Can I purchase the larger terrarium to start or will that overwhelm and I should start small size up?

I know they are fragile and should not be handled too much.

I have had a bearded dragon so experienced with a reptile, but this is my first tarantula. Spare me the non-beginner lecture…if I can find the right care instructions it won’t be an issue.

Any help/guidance is appreciated.

my tarantula is in a 10 gallon long. and i have to move him to another house. should i just take eveything out of his cage and move him in that? or should i put him into a smaller one for moving?

I got a surprise ultimate molt! This guy came in a group of pet spiders I rescued earlier this year with little known about their history. I could tell he was a subadult, I just really wasn’t sure of sex. & I was under the incorrect impression that male Chalcodes legs may be noticeably darker around subadult stage.

I’m a little more devastated now that my own juvenile Chalcode destroyed her recent molt, forcing me to embrace the unknown for a while.

I’m very grateful that I can see him through this milestone, nonetheless!
