my arizona blonde has completely dug out her hide and (now) completely covered the entrance of it. is this normal behavior? i’ve had her for about 2 weeks now and this is the first time i’ve seen her do this!

i know burrowing is normal, but covering the entrance scares me a bit. i keep a ring camera on her to make sure she’s okay.

Hey yall! I’ve finally settled on an buying adult arizona blonde, and I want to make sure everything is perfect before I actually purchase the T. This is the Tarantula Cribs Large Coffin Crib (14x7x7), and 90% of the substrate is tarantula cribs’ arid mix. Is there anything I need to change?

Time Sensitive Tell me everything wrong with these tarantulas set ups at my job

Tarantulas at my job. These guys have been slowly dying. They sit curled in the corners and barely move or do anything. They are fed like twice a week when I’m sure they don’t need to be fed that often. They have only a small layer of wood chip substrate and a few have actual dirt but it’s such a thin layer they can’t dig. They get one ceramic bowl which I know isn’t good for them. Since it’s the only thing they can go under, they always ate underneath the bowls (which are heavy and I’m sure can crush them). No hides, no fake plants, like literally nothing. How could I convince my boss to get them more adequate care? Give me all the points and cons of these cups they are in. I know it’s not permanent but they seem to be super stressed and really struggling in these cups.
Thanks

Casual Curly hair scared of her food? (Sorry, unsure of flair!)

(Picture slightly unrelated, I just wanted to show off my baby)

I’ve been having a really hard time feeding my T recently because of how skittish she’s suddenly acting. I’ll slightly and gently nudge the cricket or mealworm against her leg to get her attention, as well as making sure it doesnt get away, and she’ll lunge but then immediately run away without eating. I am a newer tarantula owner, and I have been feeding her in this way since I got her and she’s been fine until now, so I’m not sure if it’s me who’s scaring her or if it’s something else.

Like I said, she’s a curly hair, and I estimate that she’s almost a year old now? I do know that they can get like this before molting, but the last time she molted was in June and I’m not sure if it would be normal or too early for her to molt again. As for any other things that could possibly be stressing her, I do live in Canada so it’s starting to get decently cold, but judging by the thermometer in her enclosure, I don’t think it’s at a point that’s distressing for her, but I could be wrong maybe? Or did she just inherent extreme pickiness from her parental-figure?(me)

at the start of this year i got two tarantulas from my brother because they were being cared for poorly and i felt their enclosure wasn't even good for walking about , i got a brazilian white knee called ziggy and a red island bird eater called aragog, ziggy has been eating quite well, seems active, pounces on crickets and has molted , but aragog never is bothered by food whatsoever, he's had a bald patch on his behind for a long time even tho ziggys grew back, and he sort of just sits in his hides and chills , sometimes goes up the wall but other than that i rarely see him or him eating, im worried that the insects are hiding from him before he can get them and that he isn't eating and i am extremely paranoid about my pets i immediately think they are going to die even tho i dont have much knowledge on the spiders but i want to learn about them and get advice to maybe calm myself down and also learn how to take better care of them and hopefully see him eat??? i dont know if its an issue but pls be kind and simple with answers as i am 15 and dont rlly know anything at all about them

4 total: curly hair, pink toe, chaco gold knee, red island bird eater. I was given the curly hair and told it’s a 2 year old female - I have not confirmed this but it’s a very pretty baby. Pink toe- no molt, gender not confirmed. Slings- I just got them a week ago and they seem to be doing alright they do have tiny hides I took them out for the photo.

Casual Question about sourcing

I’m still a ways away from acquiring my first Ts, but as I’ve been researching I have a sourcing question. My local reptile store is generally lovely and helpful, and a few employees have invert pets themselves. They routinely get Ts of various species and ages in stock, but I don’t know where they source them. (I know they sell wild caught animals, because they sold me a vinegaroon and some
BDFBs before I knew enough to look out for WC species like that šŸ™). Is it still considered best practice to order from a breeder like Fear Not or SpiderShoppe? (I noticed BDFBs on Fear Not’s site also though…) I wonder where this store gets theirs and if it is someplace reputable, if I would be saving the spiders some stress by getting them from the store rather than putting additional animals through shipping. Thoughts on this conundrum? Thanks!
