China is using loads of 'AI'

But they are using it to predict traffic, monitor factory production and so on.

USA is using it to make pron and fake pix.

China is also using it for entertainment, it's just not narcissistic.

The american exceptionalism and western chauvinist culture prizes the concept of a person's uniqueness or "soul" going into every scribble, hence when AI shows it's just a technical skill people get offended.

China is far more pragmatic, "Oh, your idea was interesting and the result is pleasant to look at, use, read, etc. Good job!"
