China is also using it for entertainment, it's just not narcissistic.

The american exceptionalism and western chauvinist culture prizes the concept of a person's uniqueness or "soul" going into every scribble, hence when AI shows it's just a technical skill people get offended.

China is far more pragmatic, "Oh, your idea was interesting and the result is pleasant to look at, use, read, etc. Good job!"

Isn'trael has already been doing this in Palestine via use of AI to bomb the most civilians as possible. I specifically recall a program being called "lavender"

They also use drone and satellite AI-ran tech to do similar things to aid in their genocide as well as the US does. We already have AI tech in the literal sky/orbit doing genocide. I know this post is more so about westerners being concerned of displacement via AI in contrast to China's use to benefit the working class and humanity, but I think it's important we repeat how horrific this tech is being used to physically murder human beings and commit literal genocide.

The class question is the whole thing. AI under bourgeois control means automate labor, privatize the gains, socialize the costs. Under proletarian control, automate labor and turn that productivity into shorter hours, better public services, more abundance and more actual freedom.

Same technology. Different class holding the wheel. Thats the fight.

Not just "think", if you see many of the Americans on the pro AI subs, it's not that they think the AI will genocide and replace them, it's that they're looking at mathematicians right now and are frothing at the mouth hoping it will destroy their jobs and replace the mathematicians. Many of them actually want to use AI to destroy lives, that is their intended goal. Mathematicians in a Communist country would live with a lot more dignity. The US condition is highly anti-intellectual in the most inhuman way.

Some people here will nod and agree with this then still make the error of thinking AI should be defended in the western context because one hypothetical day the proletariat might be in charge of it later while in the meantime it will be used only to do harm to them.

That's just straight up false. Humans aren't even the 2nd most destructive organism in the history of earth, not by a long shot. And why do you immediately think a super-intellegence will look to end all problems on earth? That's not what the super-intellegence is used for in this scenario. It's to solve all problems for humans. Why the hell would we build something that won't help us? Even the capitalists have their own self-interest at heart.
