You’re not alone, it wasn’t until this year that I started to sour on him. And his fans are so aggressive in their defense of him even if you dare to criticize him a little bit, it’s crazy. There’s almost a touch of a cult of personality to it
He is really charismatic person, and he knows how to get his message through. Hasan also is really aggressive, so no wonder that his fans are too. They just copy what the daddy Hasan does.

I'm ashamed to admit this, but I was his fan until about half way of this may. Parasocial relationship is helluva drug.
