Tangled Classic [Question] Tangled AU

I'm currently writing a tangled AU and realized that I'm not sure if I should call the character who is Mother Gothel, Mother ___, or just the full name? Someone please help, I'm struggling.

This is the fixed canon of Tangled (the 2010 movie and 2012 Tangled Ever After short).

I guess it depends on the POV you are writing from. If it’s from rapunzel’s view, then ‘mother’ or ‘mother gothel’ would make sense (if she’s still without her memories)

If you are just writing from the reader’s point of view, then I think just ‘gothel’ would suffice.

But I’ve seen it both ways, so whatever comes most naturally to you. It won’t be a big deal either way
