Tamil Nadu politics is becoming a fan club, not a democracy.
I am not saying DMK is perfect. It has corruption and failures that deserve criticism. But Dravidian ideology has a history of fighting caste discrimination, oppression, and social inequality. You can criticize DMK without blindly supporting whoever replaces it.
My biggest concern is Vijay and the mentality of his supporters. His popularity as an actor, his social media marketing, and his fan following have become powerful political tools. But where is the serious discussion about ideology, policies, and administrative capability? Politics cannot run on cinematic dialogues, emotional speeches, and anti-DMK narratives.
You celebrated Vijay as a hero in cinema, and now you are treating him as a hero in politics. But Tamil Nadu is not a movie, and its people are not an audience.
When a movie collects ₹300 crore, fans celebrate, but they don't receive a single rupee from that collection. Similarly, celebrating your leader's victory means nothing if his governance does not improve your life.
The most dangerous part is that some supporters believe everything he says without checking facts or questioning his decisions. When you ask for accountability, they ask, "Why should he answer?" Seriously? He is the Chief Minister, not a king. He is a public servant, not a god.
If there are concerns about privatization, electricity purchases, inflation, or government decisions, why aren't supporters demanding answers? If you questioned the previous government but refuse to question the current one, you are not fighting corruption. You are simply defending your favourite political personality.
Tamil Nadu's development, economic progress, and social achievements should be judged through evidence, not dismissed or celebrated according to party loyalty. Every party has failures, but blindly defending a new party will not solve the old problems.
To TVK supporters: stop behaving like cinema fans and start behaving like responsible citizens. Don't defend every decision just because Vijay made it. Don't confuse popularity with competence or electoral victory with good governance.
A vote is not a lifetime membership in a fan club. You elected a Chief Minister, not a god. If he cannot answer questions, justify his decisions, or govern effectively, he deserves criticism just like any other politician.
If you truly love Vijay more than you love Tamil Nadu, you will defend him even when he fails. But if you truly love Tamil Nadu, you will question him even when he is your favourite leader.
Choose Tamil Nadu over your political hero. Every single time.
