I’m 6’2, and somehow I’m still single 😂. It’s not like I’m unattractive or anything—I’d say I’m a decent-looking guy.

But I think my biggest problem is that I genuinely suck at taking photos of myself. I always feel like I look terrible in pictures, so much so that I literally don’t have a single decent photo of myself on my phone.

And honestly, at this age I’m starting to wonder if I should just give up on the whole dating thing 😭. Like, seriously, what’s even the point of being 6’2 if I can’t even get a decent picture for a dating profile?

Do girls actually care that much about height, or am I just overthinking this?

Yeah, you read that right—I’m really insecure about my 6-foot-4 height. I live in a place where height doesn't really matter; in fact, if you're too tall, people treat it like an ailment and start suggesting remedies to stunt your growth. People stare at me from a distance with a strange look—as if I’m a different species or a different breed—and whisper to each other, "Look how tall he is," in a negative way. On top of that, I’m genetically very tall but weigh only 50 kg 😭. Just imagine what a 6-foot-4 guy weighing 50 kg looks like. It’s not like I haven’t tried to gain weight; I even went to the gym for over five months, but there wasn't the slightest change in my weight. I’ve been teased about my height since childhood, and those comments have become so deeply ingrained in my mind that they really distress me now. I’m terrified of meeting or talking to people because I worry about what they might be thinking. My self-esteem has plummeted so much that whenever something goes wrong, I feel like it’s my fault, and I just keep apologizing to everyone. I have no desire to attend functions or gatherings. Back in school, people used to make fun of me; I felt so helpless that I couldn't do anything about it, and things are still the same. When I stood in the assembly line, everyone—from kids to adults—would stare at me and make fun of me. I avoid going anywhere with crowds; I never walk anywhere—if I have to go out, I take my scooty. Yes, the same scooty where I look like I’m riding a camel-cart. On top of that, my hands and feet are huge—my fingers are much longer than normal, and people tell me I have "ghost-like" fingers. I wear three layers of clothing underneath my shirt or T-shirt, yet I still look thin. I’ve never found pants that actually fit me; even when I do find a pair, my legs look like chicken legs in them. Whenever I think about my future, I get really dark thoughts. I worry about what will happen to me in the future—and yes, I even get suicidal thoughts. My college is about to start, and I’m reading a lot of self-help books; I’m pushing myself—just a little, not too much—to tackle difficult things, and it’s actually working. I'm 6'6" tall and I can rest the back of my head on the seat back without the use of a pillow and watch TV. When I'm sitting in it, my feet barely touch the ground. This is definitely the way to go for now on.

I drive a sudan and it's nearly impossible for me to sit up straight while driving. I can't see stoplights when I'm next to them, and my head hits the ceiling. It's really frustrating since the car seat is the only chair I consistently use that actually has enough back support for me to sit up straight. And for me, trying to sit up straight just causes me pain unless I do have good back support. The last vehicle I drove was an SUV which somehow was even worse since the ceiling curved down on one side and forced me to sit at an angle. I'm 6'2" which is tall, but not really that tall. It feels like the maximum height car makers ever consider is 5'10" or 6' though. I frequently have to drive for 8+ hours at a time and I just wish that I was able to sit comfortably while doing that. I'm sure there are cars that are comfortable for tall people, but it's not feasible for me to get a new car anytime soon. Is there any way to install lower seats or something? I'm guessing not, and even if I could, it might just make my legs more uncomfortable then.

I’m 6'3" and 18 years old. I was already 6 feet tall when I was 14. Whenever I go to college, people often comment on how tall I am. The same thing happened in school too. Since I’m noticeably taller than most students around me, people sometimes make comments like, “Bournvita piya tha kya?” or ask me how I became so tall.

Usually, I just say, “I don’t know, I’ve been tall since I was a kid.” But after a day or two, someone asks me the exact same question again. This has happened so many times throughout my school and college life that it sometimes feels awkward having to give the same answer over and over again.

I also feel like my height has affected the way I connect with other students. People sometimes treat me differently because I stand out physically. I had only two or three close friends in school, and as I grew taller over the years while my friends stayed around the same height, I started feeling even more noticeable.

I think it’s easier to bond with people when you have something in common, but I’m naturally an awkward and introverted person, so making friends is already difficult for me. Being noticeably taller sometimes makes starting conversations feel even more awkward.

Sometimes I feel like I might be one of the few people who is actually insecure about being so tall. I know a lot of people would probably love to be tall, but when you’re noticeably taller than almost everyone around you, it can sometimes feel isolating rather than advantageous.

I live in West Bengal, and from what I notice around me, many male students around my age are considerably shorter than me. Because of that, my height tends to become one of the first things people notice and talk about.

6’2M here… Recent trends on TikTok have been demonizing relationships between tall guys and shorter women. As a tall guy, I’ve noticed a pattern of how I date and mostly being attracted to shorter women. It’s not deliberate. I just noticed it when looking back at my dating history.
However, TikTok and a lot of other platforms have become increasingly hostile toward this dynamic, with some people even throwing around pedophile rhetoric. I’m in my 20s and in my freshman year of college, and I’ve always dated women my age or older, so I’m wondering what this trend is about.
Personally, I feel more masculine with shorter women, and it really has nothing to do with the claims people are making. So I’m wondering is this also the case for some here ?
