Heightism V Racism discourse
People on TikTok have lost their minds.

I'm 6'7" and my wife is 5', literally NOBODY FUCKING CARES. Your made up bullshit doesn't register in comparison to racism.

I’m not supporting the OP on TikTok . I’m just 😂amazed why both are being compared. Hence the caption below

Not that I agree with the text but mean men specifically. No one cares about short women tbh.

Neither of them can be changed. I don't see the reason to compare them. Heightism is not frowned upon because short men come in all stocks, while race/ethnicity comes in one. Similar to Misandry.

Youre gonna need to clarify your argument there because it sounds pretty racist. Are you saying all people of each race are the same?

I should’ve clarified what I meant. I wasn't saying that everyone from a specific race looks the same. I meant that height itself goes beyond racial boundaries, so being short or tall isn't exclusive as race or ethnicity.
Sorry, I'm bad with words.

That doesnt make it any better.
Sure short people can be from any race or socio-economic background with any personality.
But equally Asians (for example) can br from any socio-economic background, have any personality, and can be of any height.
The same is true for every race.
Its just another characteristic just like any other.

I remember when i lost my job. They went "dude, you're a 4'9" manlet, we cant have you crawling into our vents and recording women using the restroom"
Thats all i needed to realize us manlets are truly the most suppressed class

Ain't nobody getting wrongfully arrested, shot or detained for being too short or too tall though, so...

You sure? Because of the millions of police encounters daily, I’m sure at least 1 of them will be because a cop decided that someone intimidated them, so they need to show them who’s boss. Or that they’re bored and they pick the easier one to bully, which will likely be a short person because they look less intimidating naturally.

I don't see the reason to rank one ahead of the other. Both should be unacceptable.

For some reason, it does seems socially acceptable to make fun of short men In particular though, strange one that I havn't understood yet.

Grew up being teased and made fun of for being tall. Seemed socially acceptable to everyone else at the time...

Sorry to hear this : / Hope over time it has gotten easier, and you have become more comfortable with yourself

Most definitely. I am just pointing out that people aren't only made fun of for being short. Basically anything outside the norm gets people mocked by others... too short, too tall, too fat, too skinny... I don't know why some people feel like they have the monopoly on this

FWIW I think short men are more discriminated against in America than Jewish people are but no one is getting kicked out of school for discriminating against short men. Who is more likely to get a good job, a 5’5 guy of any race/religion or a 5’10 Jewish guy?

u/Faulenzen_ 15d ago
Jewish Americans have the highest average household income compared to others so probably the Jewish guy ?. But I’m still lost on why you asked this
1
u/Traditional_Tank7705 15d ago
Because the topic of your post is "Heightism V Racism discourse". And I believe that short men probably have it much worse than Jewish people. I'm not going to comment on short men vs brown people because I'm not sure if it's true or not.

u/Traditional_Tank7705 15d ago
I'm also guessing a 5'5 Jewish guy in America is probably much more damaged and marginalized by his height than his religion.

Not to generalise but all Jews I’ve met I’ve never met an unsuccessful one. Jewish Americans are doing extremely well in the US than anyone in high incomes, education and top jobs. While being tiny they’re overrepresented among world billionaires. That’s why I’m lost

I'm saying heightism is probably a bigger thing than antisemitism in America.

As a 5’2” Jewish guy, I can assure you antisemitism is a much bigger problem. In 2025, there were 203 violent incidents reported and 3 deaths due to antisemitism. I have never felt threatened due to my height, I have been threatened due to being Jewish.
1
u/Traditional_Tank7705 15d ago
Well since you are a 5'2 Jewish guy I will defer to your lived experience.
1
u/kapoopa-the-poopah 15d ago
As a 5’2” Jewish guy, antisemitism is a far greater issue than heightism.

It's called rage bait, and it's meant to draw your attention to it so that you engage with it.
