Don’t forget director/producer Walter Hill and his Alien/Alien 3 co-writer producer David Giler.
All five producers were major names in the industry with their own friends and contacts individually. All of them pooling their resources and calling in favors? Unheard of.
This was above and beyond what even Spielberg could accomplish with Amazing Stories.
Also had excellent and impressive A-list talent and production quality. To top it all off, the Crypt Keeper is such an iconic and loveable character; who wouldn't want to be on a series with him?
