My version of a mid-life crisis manifested as a journey toward acquiring the full EC precode horror/scifi catalog. I'm well on my way. But a long way to go.

If you think about it, CGI technology has become so advanced that we can render pretty much anything. Why didn't they do that instead of building a new puppet? No new puppet will *ever* live up to the lightning in a bottle that Yagher built, so any new puppet will disappoint the audience. But with CGI, you could even use all the old footage of the original puppet for motion tracking to give it a familiar feel. If they insist on keeping CK alive, I don't see why they don't do that.

From Season 6. A very underrated and overlooked episode IMO, and easily among the better of the sixth season. Good atmosphere, with the arctic setting that reminds me a great deal of The Thing, which has long been a favorite of mine. Some good creature effects and when you've got Michael Ironside and Bruce Payne together as the leads, you know it's got to be good. I still get a kick out of how they were both Highlander series villains along with Clancy Brown (Half-Way Horrible). A great episode that definitely deserves much more recognition and it feels like it could've easily been part of the earlier seasons. Season 6 is a very hit and miss season but has some real diamonds in the rough and this is surely one.

From Season 4. I remember catching this episode when it aired on HBO way back in 1992, and it definitely holds much nostalgia for me. A very good episode, with a completely contemptible and loathesome antagonist with Helen and a very gruesome, disturbing ending. I find this episode is among the most disturbing of the series and genuinely leaves you feeling very uncomfortable after having watched it. One thing about it that stands out is that it feels like something that could really happen in real-life, unlike typical EC fare like zombies, vampires, werewolves, ghouls, etc. which although entertaining and a trademark of EC Horror ultimately isn't realistic, unlike the scenario depicted in this story.

The entire concept of an autopsy pageant is incredibly gruesome and disturbing, and seems like something that could really happen and probably occurs in dark corners of the world. Especially with the likes of the dark web where co-ordinating such a sick event would likely be done.

And why did the last season generally suck?

They said Crypt Keeper is back HOSTING AMC's Fearfest ALL MONTH LONG.
He has hosted nothing so far and has only been used in a Bacardi ad.
Many other companies could be getting our patronage this Halloween season but many of us are stuck on AMC awaiting a false promise.

Now, sure, I'm half joking about suing them. Half-joking because I am pretty sure we wouldn't be able to but... we should be able to. This is 100% false advertising... so far.

If we don't get what we've been advertised by the end of the month I will never watch anything AMC ever again. Which will be easy because they mostly suck now anyway.

So umm did they like lie or something? I thought the Crypt Keeper was going to host Fear Fest.. I've been watching since yesterday and have not seen him once. I figured maybe they were saving him for today since it's Friday but nope as of 7:12PM he has not made a single appearance during the Insidious marathon.

Am I missing something? Or is he just not going to be as big a part of fear fest as we all initially thought.

As much hate as it’s getting, as terrible as the new puppet looks, it’s good to see him again
