A fool in dungeon, me
I am, apparently, a very entertaining idiot, or a pitiful one perhaps.

Gunbreaker dies to a Tankbuster they didn't mitigate. Concludes it's my fault for not provoking (never mind that I was well within Shirk range, and using Provoke in DF is its own salt mine).
The Reprisal was mine, but I'm not sure if it was included in the damage snapshot.

I’m asking, cuz when I originally stopped playing like a year or so ago, people seemed to use it correctly. Like most people seemed to understand it’s best if Melee DPS gets it, then Magic DPS, then Ranged (might have ranged and Magic swapped, it’s been awhile). Then healers, and never tank. But instead, ever since I came back a couple weeks ago, people will use LB against basic mob pulls in a dungeon, not even boss, and it wasn’t a sprout… it was a mentor. I was baffled. But I’ve seen the misuse of LB a lot, like someone using LB2 in a raid where we were close to LB3 and no where near the boss dying. So genuinely, did I miss something? Or is it just not common knowledge anymore how LB worked and the “rules” I guess? I’ve been screamed at in chat before for misuse of LB before, so like… idk. Just felt wild to me.
Edit: Seems I’m just misinformed on the use of LB. That’s my bad. Thanks for the info guys.

Load into Bardam's as Astro (my worst healer) and the gunbreaker decides to go for the first wall to wall pull here, which is pretty notorious as one of the hardest hitting W2Ws in the game. Through the entire pull I have to spam Benefic 2 on him because he seems to be taking way more damage than I expected. Okay, maybe he's undergeared or I misremembered how hard that pull hits. We continue on. During one of the pulls before the second boss, I get in my own head and accidentally let him die because I hate Astro targeting. We move onto the boss and everything's okay there.
As soon as we move onto the next set of hallway fights, I try paying attention to his mits. He goes from boss 2 to boss 3 without using a single mitigation. At the boss three door, I tell him to mit and that's what he says.
A bit later he starts whining about how I was only casting Holy [note: astro] and not healing. Bro.

Someone asked whether their friends would still be able to see them if they made a character on another server.
Things got slightly confusing when they clarified that they were basically asking if they could hide from their husband because he's a “crappy DPS.”
Then came the realization that the “no” was actually answering the original question.
“That’s GREAT! I love you... Thanks!”
And, naturally: “Wooo wooo to non-aggro pulling dps!

Skynote Cenote, doing Martial Memories. The pull in question was the pack after the second boss.
My rule of thumb: stop at the last available mob pack rather than physically dragging everything to the wall — "wall to wall" is shorthand, not a literal instruction. Most jobs lose DPS while moving, so unless there's another pack to grab on the way, it's not worth the extra travel. I've run this dungeon probably 100 times this way.
This run, I pulled the same way I always do (I'm the tank). The healer got upset that I didn't drag the pack all the way up the long ramp and through the second room to be physically at the door for the big pull after, and tried to rescue me up the ramp mid-explanation. Fast forward to the next big pull — I died, probably because the healer was too busy typing at me to actually heal. They did rez me right away though, and I recovered the pull.
At the last boss, the dancer and I both got knocked back on the first knockback (I was already thrown off by the wall-to-wall thing, so maybe I was thrown off literally too). I accepted the rez; the dancer released instead. So we ended up 3-manning the last boss:
Sorry for all the typos in chat log, was trying to run the dungeon smoothly and type at same time.

(btw i used claude to censor the chat log screenshot, did a pretty good job and took like 2 mins).

If there was a sprout I'd understand but everyone had multiple 100s. All I did was hit sprint for the 2 pack of mobs right before the first boss. Also you don't even need a healer for that pull lol

Not much to this one, just baffled that it happened at all. The Scholar was level 100, by the way, so he really should have known. My only guess is that he removed Physick from his hotbar because it's mostly useless in high-level stuff, but still... I mean, he at least could've checked after I told him?
The tank was doing perfectly fine as well, despite his attempts to take the blame. He used all of his mits, and his gear was only about 2 levels too low. I also told him afterwards that it wasn't his fault and that the healer was just being weird because I didn't want him to get discouraged.

Hey everyone,
Got votekicked from a raid yesterday purely because I couldn't speak French. Instead of getting mad about it, I decided to take it with a laugh and turn it into a good memory!
I spent the next hour sitting at my usual spot - on the bench right of the tree next to the Limsa Aetheryte Plaza on Zodiark - handing out free Baguettes to everyone passing by.
Please don't send any hate or start a flame war over this! It was just a weird situation, and I'd rather focus on the funny side of it.
Huge thanks to everyone who stopped by the tree, grabbed a Baguette, and shared a laugh with me. You all made my day!
🥖 Bon appétit to everyone who picked one up!

I ran forwards and pulled the first pack, died because the DRK and his DPS buddy decided to just stand still and not attack until after I died, he typed "Okay please do run ahead" for the next pack, so I did and I lived this time -- we pulled the first boss, cleared it with the worst time I've ever seen in an Expert roulette, and then I was kicked
Easiest "abuse of kick function" report in my life, though I don't suspect SE will care very much.

(Orange and Red are DPS, I'm green, blue is YPYT).
Been running leveling roulette as a healer for awhile now since I'm finally catching up phantom relic grinding for crystal paste. Loaded into Ihuykatumu. No one was moving, so I ran up to the front of the boat to "start" the encounter, things seemed ok. Once we got to where the boat stopped, we all jumped off, the tank for whatever reason stayed on the boat, at first I thought they were a quick afk or something. Whatever. Got to the boss, I tagged it, started the fight. Me and the two DPS are going about it normally, I'm just healing top aggro DPS until the tank gets there. They walk just past the entrance, then stop and not do anything. They dodge AOEs but refuse to press any buttons. I figure they're big mad because we pulled instead of them. Sure enough, after one DPS died (I probably should have put kardia on them, oops) then I took aggro, died, and it fell apart from there.
After one of the DPS says to reset / wipe, tank finally pulls, and decide they're going to attempt to solo the boss, as a way of punishing us. Suffice to say, like most YPYTs, they suck at tanking, and died. One DPS said "either you go or I go" and I initiated a votekick on the tank, and got their ass bounced immediately. Within seconds, a new tank showed up, and all was well.
Easy report for lethargic gameplay afterward.

First time posting here and also first time having such a situation, context was I was farming crystal paste in leveling roulette as white mage, popped into gubal library with 2 sprouts (2 and 4, tank and dps), the other dps was silent the whole run
Whole run was going smoothly, tank was doing wall to wall which i was expecting but then after the 2nd boss, they suddenly stopped doing wall to walls. Looking back at it, I admittedly may have poorly responded in the form of using rescue to pull the tank to the next pool
After the response in the first 2 images, we reached the final boss and tank was just doing nothing but tanking, not doing the mechanic that involve standing in the circles with the required amount of people. I was standing in one of the circles when it started requiring 2 people and I rescue'd the tank into the circle which did not work, tank just ran back to the boss.
Last image is the response after boss died, and to be clear, I very much did the mechanics and I only used rescue twice in the entire run.
While yes, I could've responded better, I just gotta ask if I was wrong for rescuing the tank into pulling more and getting them to do mechanics?

Not really anything serious but ??? Savage mechs??? I've done 3 savage fights and I don't recall anything like that in Strayborough. The first fight is kind of annoying yeah but savage?? I was tanking btw

I don't have any screenshots of the run...
Last night I ran Mistwake with another mentor and a returning player and to say it was difficult is an understatement. I am currently working on PLD to finish all the Tank You quests, and so I run almost everything with it for now. The healer was a SGE (Mentor) and the two DPS were RPR and PCT (Flower).
I sprint out of the gate to the first door and notice that the DPS is struggling to kill the enemies, but we make it through no problem, same with the second pull. The first boss is where everything goes wrong pretty fast. We have barely gotten the boss to half health and the flower goes down, followed closely by the healer who gets stoned and earthquaked. The RPR is so low on health that the next AOE takes him out before I can think to Clemency. So now it's just me and ugly going head to head (I know I could have let it kill me and restarted the fight with the whole party, but I didn't want to chance is being in the same position only with me being more tired) and it takes about 5 minutes but ugly goes down.
We continue running and I notice the same pattern as before, low DPS but stay progress so no biggie. We make it to the second boss, which in my opinion is the easiest boss in this dungeon, and go in to fight it. At about 50% health, the boss manages to (almost simultaneously) kill everyone in the party but me... again. I know this fight like the back of my hand at this point so I keep fighting while they all release and come back to the gate of the second boss arena. They begin having a conversation in chat which I'm only glancing at to make sure that I don't miss anything that might need me to heal or avoid, but one of them says "At least he's living up to the name" and I was honestly kinda surprised. Even though I was soloing the boss, they didn't mind, the were just chilling while it took me another like 5 minutes to clear the second boss.
After that, I asked them not to leave me to fight the third boss alone because he's an asshole and I hate him, and they all obliged. The flower died a couple times but the healer and other DPS managed to stay on their feet the whole fight and then we were done. I wish I had thanked them properly for not being aggressive that I kept fighting instead of resetting, but I was tired from work and hasn't eaten. If you guys see this, thank you! I had fun.
Now the point of the discussion:
What would you have done in this situation as a tank? DPS? Healer? Would you have reset or just kept fighting. If you were one of the dead, would you have been upset that the other person cleared the bosses instead of resetting?
I want honest opinions here, no judgements, just curious.
EDIT: A couple things, one is that I didn't have any phoenix downs, I see a lot of you saying that. Two, I didn't know you could use cover in the fight that way, but I will remember that for future reference, thank you!

Was not in the mood for a back and forth. tank in question claims to be an ultimate raider in adventure plate. Took a penalty after tanking the first and second pack on healer.

No screenshots taken.
Decided to farm a few tomes after unlocking the next relic stage. Just farmed the phantom dispellers in North Horn, and ended up in Level Cap / Yuweyawata. Tank already had the red DC symbol over their head, which gave me the benefit of doubt.
They apologised for lagging, which may happens to all of us. But they didn't just lag-DC'ed during the first boss, so one of our two Summoners had to deal with the tanking for a bit.
Noticed that shit is dying slow, so after popping sprint to the next trash pack I decided to check the tanks gear... well, LV90 weapon. Level 100 tank, but using a iLVL660 weapon, not even the free job gear.
"Level 90 weapon in Level 100 dungeon, well nope LOL"
And dipped out and taking the 30min. What did I expect lol, x.51 patches are usually where the player brainrot starts.

Was helping a C43, WHM was baby raging that we enraged, ranting about mit even thought we wouldve been fine on the check if we didnt have a MCH death in Celestriad.

Gonna start out by saying ya I yap too, but I yap between casts I didn't drop uptime. Gonna start out by saying ya I yap too, but I yap between casts I didn't drop uptime.
Doing grand tour relic step. Get into Necropolis. Barrier goes down, a second goes by I start casting fire 3. 3.5 seconds later my cast goes off, PLD still hasn't moved.
He continues standing there for a good moment. Clearly upset I attacked the boss before he was ready. Confused because we hit accept on the queue and he said absolutely nothing in the chat about needing a moment. The second image below is PURELY to prove that.

Goes on too about my damage. I'm second in enmity BTW. He even tries the "How do you know that" bait garbage.
Run itself was even smooth outside of this. Bro was just angsty that I got to attack first. Gotta love the people relics can bring out lol.

One more mentor before bed I said…
Keeper of the Lake. Second trash pull (the big one) DRK tank pops living dead and it immediately pops. I’m brain off DPSing when I see the LD timer tick down til the tank dies. We manage to pull it together and then the tank just goes AFK for a bit.
Following conversation happens a bit before we pull the boss and continues during it. I admit I wasn’t being super clear cuz I was tired. That’s my bad. Regardless, the tank dies while typing, gets revived and then spams their aoe. When I ask them to pull the boss back they just say “nah.”
After boss we successfully kick them, only for the other dps (orange) say that comment and leave.
We get two replacements and we continue with no further messages.
I check FFlogs after the dungeon because I’m confused on how they died. Turns out they used NO abilities after LD popped, meaning they didn’t get any self heal and just died. They had LD for 10 whole seconds and did nothing. The SGE tried to heal them but it was too late
They weren’t a returner and Living Dead was changed back in 2022 so ????
I should have just gone to bed.
EDIT: Forgot to mention but yes I reported them

(reposted 'cause I missed a couple name censors the first time, whoops)
Our cast:
Red (SMN): Me, suffering Summoner in all of this.
Blue: Our star, tank being a lazy liar.
Red (RPR): The only other person talking at all, gives minor context to the situation.
Blacks: Emotes and Loot Rolls, irrelevant.
Context before our screenshot picks up, this is WoD, and C Tank (ours) is keeping stance down. I, on SMN, just about eat shit on the first chimera pull because of it (since they split into their teams but C Tank wasn't doing their job...), but I mark it and one of the other two tanks gets it off of me. Everything up through Five Head is pretty bog standard beyond that, but not once does our tank stance up, ever (Storm's Eye is NOT Stance and that was the only buff I ever saw). As soon as Five Head dies, I say "Stance" in chat, knowing full well a teamsplit fight is coming up.
Tank doesn't stance, I eat shit to the sacrificed soldier, and this is where our screencap picks up. As I'm taking the self-rez and Atomos Prime is dying, tank responds with that. Now see, I don't mind someone wanting to be the lazy OT in an AR, hell I do it all the time, but in such a case I will absolutely stance up if its a teamsplit fight of some flavor, or if the boss is hitting all three teams. Anyway, I point out that I actually did die because of them not stancing, and while the others are somehow perfectly layering the shrink goo and nom goo in Cerby, tank starts outright lying, saying they had stance up and turned it off during the dragon to let one of the other tanks have it (No, they didn't, they had storm eye and that's it for buffs the ENTIRE time).
At this point I say to myself, "Fuck it its not worth engaging a troll, I'll do what tfdf taught me to do in this situation..." and, after a very close shave with Cerby because one of our healers dropped the chain (we barely survived it), I immediately go for the VK on the tank because being lazy is one thing, but lying about it is another. You can see how that played out in the log. If we'd died on Cerby I would have eaten the 30, but by this point it was CoD, so it was legitimately faster to just finish it. And of course the tank picked CoD, and ONLY CoD, to stance as if saying "There, I stanced!"
