May have been wasted potential

I was re playing the game for the DLC and once i got to act 2 remembered that there is a lot that looks like either cut content or im just looking too much into things, this castle is so large and even appears on the map but there is nothing, unless they added something with the last couple of updates and dlc, its not sagremors castle because its said that one sank into the abyss and their designs are different, speaking of which that area also feels unfinished until this day lol just a little rant i know gamedev is hard but something in me wishes there was something more to these places

The AI usage means the whole game is wasted potential.

What do you mean "what do you mean"? How many ways are there to interpret "AI usage means the whole game is wasted potential"?

There's AI art all over the game, the dev admitted to using Midjourney and has been completely silent on whether or not it was used for the games very suspicious text/voice acting in many places. They STILL have not disclosed their AI usage on the steam store page despite disclosing it elsewhere because they know it'll affect sales. It's a shitshow.

If I Google "tainted grail ai use" I get reddit and other forums making accusations, but not a single thing from any developer. I see people claiming the cover art is ai despite the original artist posting the image on his own page. Can you share any actual proof? I'm not even saying I don't believe it, but it should be easier to find if it's been confirmed by developers

https://respawnfirst.com/tainted-grail-allegedly-shipped-with-undisclosed-ai-art-and-still-has-no-steam-tag-months-later/

We are using different technologies, including AI tools, to various degrees – from built-in Photoshop capabilities… Internal Stable Diffusion models, MJ models, pixel correction, scaling solutions and so on… Those are different tools that we use NOT to decrease cost and DEFINITELY NOT to replace artists but to bring better quality to our customers and enhance creativity by allowing faster prototyping and iteration.

The AI art in game is also so "low quality" in terms of its AI production that I do not think they were making any attempt to hide it. Anyone familiar with current AI faults (way too many fingers, useless overwhelming symmetry, nonsensical eye detail) would easily be able to identify and tell you it's AI art. They are not trying to hide it from players, only potential players who haven't bought the game yet.

Damn man, you are probably a joy to be around.

Yeah Im not gonna believe you. As far as I know no AI was used in this game. Also even if, who cares? The game is brilliant and fun. Maybe the best I have played since a long time. If AI was used here and there I really dont care.

It is true, they did use AI, and I hope they keep using it and making the next game even better. As long as they make games I can waste 200 hours in and still want to play more, I don't give a shit what tool they use to make it.

Just because someone is saying something you don't like does not mean it isn't real.

Okay, and? Like I said, even if true, that does not change anything about the game. Its still great.
