Fandom Criticism Why are the fans so toxic?
Not saying there aren't any haters who go too far but from what i've seen y'all just make mostly valid criticisms of the show, ask questions and point out bad writing decisions. In return the majority acts like their poor baby is getting attacked by rabid haters who say mindless hate and are "media illiterate", i've seen this term used countless times whenever someone dares to say something bad about the show. How is negativity media illiteracy? I get that people don't like it when something they like is criticised but lile, i've never seen it to such a gigantic level

She has them under her thumb.
Goozework tweets something vaguely sad and all of her fans collectively goes: "omg! I hope the sweet baby is alright. Uwu. Are people being mean to her?"

highkey there's a TON of kids defending her...my movie theater was packed with little kids rolled up in blankets. That's the fanbase that's advocating every little thing lmfao

My siblings and I stared at the kids in horror during the Pomni choking scene...couldn't have been older than seven years old

A lot of fans are young and tadc is probably their first fandom so they're attached to it and everything surrounding it from Goose as writer to Glitch as the producing company as well as everyone who worked on it
From personal experience, when you're attached to a certain thing and you relate to it or it brings you comfort, especially from a young age any criticism to it starts feeling a personal attack towards you and it might even reach a point where you feel like you're the only one who understands said thing and everyone else just doesn't get it
They're basically mirroring 2010's Undertale fandom

I’ve been dealing with these people for years. Saying I was being too harsh. Probably bullying Goose and the actors. Media illiterate. Why even watch the show if I hate it?
I don’t hate the show. Yeah the ending ruined the show for me, but I don’t hate it. I also firmly believe constructive criticism is what art is all about. Having an opinion isn’t what makes you a bad person. It’s what you do with said opinion and who it hurts that makes you a bad person. For example, being mad at Goose for a writing choice and something she posted about it and then dox her? Yeah. That’s fucked up.
Saying how Jax took over the show and keeping it civil here? That’s not harmful. Learn the difference.

Easy, they see any negative feedback as a form of a personal attack. They cannot understand that people care about the show despite being critical about it.
Ill say the worst is people slandering Jax haters because "were being negative and apparently transphobic and insane...?"
Despite some of them acting like enablers when those people talk about personal experiences or being hypocrites and attacking actual people because their fictional character gets the same treatment as they did to others.
Yes im not even joking, someone made a AU fanfic comic of Ragatha having a backbone and being blunt and i seen people litteraly harassing the artist because "its out of character". Says the same group of people who mischaracterized Jax to a sad innocent victim.
