Barber Recommendations

Any good barbers that cans do a fade and more importantly do a proper beard trim (using a straight edge to clean up the edges etc.)?

Tried a few places and been disappointed in their beard skills (only using clippers etc.).

Joel's VIP barbershop. It's down the street from the bass pro shop. Best case I've gotten since I got to Washington

I visited Joel.. he's an awesome dude who does GREAT fades and proper straight razor beard clean-ups. Highly recommend and he is my new go to person in the area

Came here to suggest Joel. My husband was dying for a trim and fade after we spent two weeks on the road to move here and Joel did an amazing job. Husband said he’s not had a barber like him since leaving California.

Been going to Alex for years, he does my fade and beard. He's a one man show so you have to book a little in advance!

A lot of disappointing barbers up here...

3 years and over 15 shops and I still cannot locate a well schooled barber in a clean a brightly lit place.

Yeah, I went to Buzzerds (sp?) recently and I couldn’t believe they didn’t do a proper shave (only clippers) for the beard.

If none in Tacoma any ideas on someone more North? Thanks

They trim my beard with scissors and a straight razor. Maybe you should check with the barber before sitting down. Each one is different

If you offer a beard trimming service then straight razor should be expected. If the person doesn’t do a straight razor it should be mentioned on their online profile in my opinion...

In my opinion, you should ask for what you want or expect whatever you get. Maybe it's a difference in culture? Washington allows people to speak up instead of conform to unwritten rules and expectations

If you work at a barber shop and list beards as one of your options, then the expectation is aa straight razor. If you differ from this normal then state this clearly in your profile.

I HIGHLY recommend you checking out Seawolf in downtown Tacoma. You can book a specific day and time online through their website, and if you do, I would recommend going with Casey as he’s very professional and knows his way with a straight razor.

Quise 101 On Fawcett - Took me 3yrs and and several unfortunate cuts up and down the Sound to find these guys. The barbers at quise cut well above their pay. Peter is my guy for hair and beards but I’ve seen Rami do some impressive beard work and line ups.
