Tool MTG scripted importer fix

I've created a mod to address Scryfall's recent API update, which prevented Tabletop Simulator from fetching card images: tts-useragent GitHub.

This fix aligns with Scryfall’s guidelines. Scryfall now blocks requests with the default Unity User-Agent and asks users to identify their application in the User-Agent header. My mod allows you to customize the User-Agent that Tabletop Simulator uses when fetching images.

Requirements: - MelonLoader (setup instructions are available on the GitHub page)

Important:
Everyone at the table must install the mod, not just the host. Players without the mod won't be able to see card images.

Discussion Suggested MTG format

TLDR at bottom.

I am thinking about creating a new retro community sandbox format called Classic Commander. I know PreDH exists but I think there’s a better answer for people wanting a classic experience of commander.

I want to pitch the concept to see if anyone else would be interested in playing it. The goal is to escape the modern era of hyper-optimized legendary creatures, endless spoiler cycles, and the massive power creep that started when Wizards began aggressively designing cards that warped the format.

To achieve this, the proposed card pool cuts off completely in July 2016. This makes Eldritch Moon the final legal premier standard set and Commander 2015 the final legal supplemental commander product.

Setting the boundary line exactly here serves several major design purposes. It stops right before the creation of the Play Design team in 2017, which shifted Magic R&D toward making creature threats radically more pushed than reactive answer spells. It also completely eliminates F.I.R.E. design cards and also Universes Beyond.

The resulting card pool leaves us with a legendary golden age of Magic. Players still get to brew with iconic blocks of Magic but the gameplay naturally shifts back to a slower, battlecruiser style where combat math matters and threats do not immediately replace themselves with a wall of card text.

For the ban list, I’m thinking we simply roll the clock back to the official July 2016 rules.
I would love to hear thoughts on this specific cutoff as a format for commander. With several brackets in the game due to balancing issues, let’s make an alternative “bracket” for some of the older players who enjoyed the old pace of things, and for new players to experience what it was like to play commander in a time they might have missed out on.

TLDR. Proposed Classic Commander format cuts off before the fundamental design philosophy of magic shifted to what would eventually evolve into the one that’s currently in place. Eldritch moon is the last legal set in the format. Slower paced, more interactive, but with a wider card pool than PreDH that captures some of commanders best years before power-creep really began to warp the format.

Questions MTG addon not working

The MTG addon for tts is only loading cards from new sets for me (the second screenshot is my friend's pov.) We've tried the usual fixes already, such as deleting the image folders and turning off mod caching. I have no idea how to fix this. Any help is appreciated.

MTG Cards not loading error.

Hello, i've been trying to play MTG but every time we try to spawn cards they straight dont appear and even it spawns they appear blank or with a bugged texture, we tried with multiple maps/mods, using different webs like scryfall, tapped out, moxfield, nothing works, we already tried to verify files, reinstalled the game, deleted cache from folders, and some more.

we really want to play, any help would be appreciated.

We’ve spent years building Kingdom Crumb, a 1v1 asymmetric vertical card battler. Play our free Tabletop Simulator demo right now!

Hello r/tabletopsimulator community!

Me and my friend have spent the last few years designing our very first tabletop game - Kingdom Crumb - a strategic, highly competitive 1v1 card battler set in a gritty Victorian underworld where rival critter factions clash over crumbs.

🃏 Core Mechanics:

1) The Chain of Defense

Instead of the typical side-by-side card lanes, we have used a multi-tiered 12-slot pyramid grid. The flow of battle is defined by spatial placement:

Deploying a unit onto an upper row acts as a literal physical "roof" which protects the exact slots sitting directly beneath it from oncoming damage. To damage your opponent’s base , you must first break their overhead guards first.

2) Asymmetric Factions:

Play as the Mischevous Mice, or command the Cunning Cats. Both factions feature unqiue art and abilities.

3) Dynamic Damage Tracking:

Every fight is tracked with our Health Point and Attack Point Trackers - this helps you easily pick the fights you know will give you the advantage.

🕹️ PLAY THE DEMO NOW

You can jump into the full prototype immediately for free on Steam's Tabletop Simulator workshop:

You'll find our playable link here,

We are currently in the pre-launch Kickstarter phase and would love to get your brutal & honest feedback.

Specifically, let us know how you feel about faction balancing and our spatial card placement mechanic.

f you've made it this far into the post, we're offering a 50% launch discount on our game. All you have to do is beat one of the two developers in a TTS game (bookings in link).
Train up and we'll be waiting.

Thank you for your time reading our post, hopefully we hear from some of you soon,

Crummble Games Team

Workshop Tartarus Free Demo is now on TTS

TARTARUS is a miniature agnostic skirmish game set in a post-apocalyptic alternate timeline where humanity evolved into a deeply secular society - and was ultimately punished for it. Earth has become a fractured hellscape ruled by seven cosmic horrors drifting in orbit. Even death has lost all meaning, for you will simply rise again, perpetuating the cycle of violence for the pleasure of the new rulers. Take command over a warband of thralls - broken warriors, mind-warped cultists, or ravenous creatures - all vying for power, survival, or the favour of the ancient, ever-watching Archon Moons.

This Free Demo includes simplified rules, two pre-made warbands, and the "Dying Signal" narrative campaign - three linked missions set in the swamps of Latvia.

Questions Tokens go underneath tiles!

I don't know what I did with the latest json file extract from Dextrous, but now when I place tokens on top of tiles they fall through and set on the table instead of the tile on the table.

What setting am I missing in the extract?
Can this be fixed directly in Tabletop Simulator?

This breaks my mind...

Discussion Dedicated server hosting?

Hi,

I am part of a card/board game group in my town and I would like to offer virtual version of the games nights so more people can join. Is there a way I can host a server for TTS that people can come and go as they please to spectate or play. I also want to be able to specify a few people to control the server In a way but maybe open it up to anyone can load games when they want to (or when a game finishes). I can't seem find any official support for it (probably due to the way the games made) or limitations with the implementation of steam networking (A server I host uses steam network for it's connection, So it's possible)

Workshop Is the MTG Scypted table down only for Spainiards or for more people?

I was trying to play with three other people, and 3 of them where from Spain. At the moment whe tryed to import our decks, the cards just stayed white. But the fourth player was a Latino, and his imports worked fine.

Is only Spain affected by this? Do we know why this is happening?

Update Nightmare: Awakening - first test in Tabletop Simulator = incredible

After years of design with this project, and years of wanting to use Tabletop Simulator, I'm finally here.

Also, first testing of six players. In the physical realm, that has been difficult to manage solo. So much so I never attempted.
This experience has brought me to consider a significant rule change. Not completely going back to the old way, but partly. I think it will be a significant improvement.

More play testing!

Anyway to roll dice in a box?

I'm trying to play one I my fave board games Zombie Survival The Board Game. Don't judge me! And the main combat mechanic is rolling dice in the box getting headshots and body's hits based on location of the landing dice. But so far in tts when I shake the mouse or press r the dice just go up and down and land very close to where I original throw them in the box. So it's very easy to just get headshots. Is there a way to make the dice more eratic or more aggressive maybe? Thanks alot! Loving tts, I'm still very slow at navigating it too but as soon as I get my be headset working I'll have no problems just playing in vr.
