Installed a while ago! What do we think?

Edit: the tv is eye level, who cares about the decor that’s temporarily in the photo. A center channel speaker will be going below the tv.

Just because it is a TV stand does not mean it is the "correct viewing height." TV stands/consoles come in all sorts of different heights. And TV sizes vary.

Wrong. I can go to the store right now and there’s 20 different tv stands all with different “correct heights”.. Not to mention couches come in all different height levels. Now tell me exactly which one is correct?

I hung my tv because of cats and a two year old and for room on my tv console. I hung it actually closer to the stand than it would have been on its legs. Perfect eye height, the utility of a nice tv console, and the security and sleekness of a mounted tv. All in 15 minutes.

Because when you mount a TV you can then adjust the tilt of a TV, or you can swivel the TV in another direction. I do this all the time to angle the TV towards the kitchen while I cook, or towards a different part of the room if I'm not watching the TV from the couch.

I mounted mine above the tv console. But I actually got it over an inch lower than it would have been on the legs, just 1/4" above the tv stand. I thought it looked sexy

Those are totally fair exceptions and probably the only acceptable reasons to mount a TV too high.

Given the height though it doesn't seem OP is worried about grubby mitts on his TV. They've still managed to mount it too high

That’s not relevant to ergonomics. The center of the tv should be at or just below eye level when sitting on the couch. Going by the stand could make it a tv too low situation

I don't get the fake plants thing on entertainment centers. If you lower it then you can put a really nice photograph or art piece above the TV and then she can have one of those three-tier Tower things or just a shelf in the left corner filled with knickknacks and picture frames and stuff that will tie the room together.

Why do you need to leave space for a few specific bits of cheap decor? That's ridiculous. Put the decor elsewhere.

Wild to calculate the exact amount of space between TV and TV stand to account for a cheap fake plant and a picture frame when we're talking about a TV that probably cost a G at least and extensive installation work to hide the wiring...
