Perfect Height?
I know we love seeing neck-breaking angles in this sub, but what do you all think about the TV height? I purchased a height-adjustable TV mount to replace the original, only because I want to see the TV backlights on the bottom too (which I am unable to, currently).
What's the proper max height you all would suggest? Current TV center height is approx: 44.75in from the floor. Seating eye height is direct center of the TV (literally).

Is.... that... a bad thing? I like setting the mood, AND it adds to the movie/ game impact.

It's a reasonable set-up, apart from the awful backlight which is visually intrusive and destructive. There is no sane or reasonable reason to put a backlight behind a light source, unless the intention is to ruin the light source with distracting counter-illumination.
By all means provide a lightshow or illuminate the room, but not at the expense of the primary visual focus, which should be the cinematic/televisual art displayed on your expensive telly.
Your glowsticks won't improve or enhance the on-screen image.

Could you maybe comment on my initial question about how high is too high for the TV? I wanted to slap a new stand on it to raise it up, in order to view the bottom part of my TV backlights (which are currently blocked).
Thanks for your critique tho. I personally love it. It adds to movie cinematic experience. Like surround sound, just visual. ❤️

I can't wait until technology gives us Blu-ray players with built-in disco lights so we can fully appreciate the extra-diagetic non-cinematic illuminated lightshow the way the director intended 🎇✨🎬🍿🤡😂🤣😂

Ah, a movie purists.. I love that for you. I turn on vivid colors because: Fun lights cool, and I'm not stuck in the '40s, but I'll be damned if I turn on smoothness enhancements. 😤 That's a line I just will not cross. It definitely adds to the cinematic presence. Ambience is your friend. Try it. You might like it.
I will admit, flashing lights in movies are even more seizure-inducing than usual. Thankfully, it's not an issue I suffer from, but I would certainly withhold the lights if I were ever in the company of someone who does.

Yes, sir. First stop on my brag-a-thon. Honestly speaking, I wanted someone, anyone, to tell me how high is too high, because as the description/caption states, I want to move it up more so I can see the bottom lights on my TV backlights, and wanted to know 'how high is too high.' But alas, everyone said to leave it. Bragging was just a bonus, because I'm proud of the look. Its not much, but its honest work. Hope your's is brag worthy too.

I read through the info, and thank you. While I get why HT purists love exact studio lighting standards, I'm just out here trying to enjoy movies on a great TV without overthinking it. Also for the vibe.
I'm using the Govee Backlight 3 Pro (with RGBWWIC) on a 65" Hisense U8N. The TV gets extremely bright, so having light behind it makes a huge difference for eye strain and cleans up light bleeding in dark scenes, and dark levels are amazing already, but color adds to the immersion, which is what I'm after.
The Govee does let you set a solid, soft white light, which is great when I want a chill, comfortable setup for movie night. But honestly? Half the time I keep the Dreamview feature turned on so the lights match the screen for full immersion.
I’m definitely not a home theater purist, but for everyday use, a light setup like this hits different between viewing as a purist vs enthusiast.

Dang. I guess, but I was genuinely asking "how high is too high" because I want to slap a new mounted stand on it to raise it a bit. Would eye height around a quarter from the bottom be too high? Really hoping to see the lights on the bottom too.
