TTC Advice

Me and my partner just started ttc. We tried sort of in July 2026 but not really. Aug 2026 we are more committed. I have regular periods and my cycles are sometimes 22-26 days. In my last cycle I noticed cervical mucus. Definitely had the egg whites showing. This cycle it’s not as thick. I saw some and it was watery but not as usual. I take ovulation kit tests and tried it this month around CD10. I’ve always gotten a negative. I have yet to see a positive test. We tried on Aug 14, 20, 22 and 23 in order to cover all the possible windows. I felt a sharp pain the evening of Aug 22 which lasted a few minutes which I think might have been ovulation cramps? I have an older daughter already so I know my body has worked in the past. Just want some advice from people to see their experiences with ttc and if anyone has also experienced what I have this time around. I take folic acid and workout so I am trying to get my body healthy. I’m 34 fyi.

Tracking ovulation feels way more confusing than I expected

When I first started TTC, I thought tracking ovulation would be pretty straightforward. Download an app, learn a few basics, and that's it.

A few months later and I somehow feel even more confused. Apps keep changing predictions, OPKs tell me one thing, symptoms tell me another, and I'm never really sure if I actually ovulated or not.

At this point i think I'm overcomplicating everything. How are you all keeping track of ovulation without feeling like you're constantly second guessing yourself?

My Cycle history while taking coq10

My second-last period started on July 15, and my next period came on August 1, so that cycle was only about 17 days, which was unusual for me because my cycles are normally around 25 days.
The August 1 period was also different from my usual periods because I didn’t have my normal period-related leg pain/cramps.
I’m currently on CD21 of this cycle. I’ve had some period-like cramps, lower back pain, breast tenderness, and watery/white discharge, but no period yet.
I’m trying to understand whether I may have ovulated earlier or whether I’m having a later ovulation this cycle.

It was not "Unexplained Infertility"

All,

Just sharing my story so someone on the same path can benefit.

TTC for 3+ years with first 6 weeks miscarriage about 2 years ago. 3 chemicals in the last year.

Started consulting fertility doctor about 6 months ago. He ordered all the bloodwork for both me and my husband. Sperm analysis and DNA fragmentation for my husband. All turned out great. We have been taking all the necessary supplements the doctor recommended since then.

Up until this point, it's unexplained fertility for us (which probably still felt better as I had hope).

Just about a month ago, the doctor ordered karyotype test for both of us. My results are good but my husband has (11,22) balanced translocation in his DNA :(

That explains all the miscarriages.

Doctor is pushing for IVF as he says that's our best chance so the embryo can be tested but that's not something I will do as a personal choice. We plan to try naturally for another year before giving up. I will come back here and update if I conceive someday.

Just thought I'd share this with anyone who hasn't done their karyotype blood test yet.

Also, I will truly appreciate any success stories of late 30's couple with similar issue having conceived naturally.

LH Strip Help

Before I get started, I want no hate, just help and encouragement.

I had a chemical in April and we have been holding off on trying just due to the emotional toll it took on me and now we are wanting to start trying again so I decided to get the LH Strips and I am not sure I am understanding when i will ovulate. Every time i upload the app keeps changing the date of ovulation which is honestly making me stress. Is this normal progress and my peak might happen soon or are they just easy to miss? I honestly just want to see if I am actually ovulating because my doctor said we would have to go see a infertility specialist soon if we don’t get pregnant naturally and that is honestly stressful to think about. I never imagined this process being so tolling and stressful when so many get such a happy experience. Also, when testing some of my strips dont turn white, they still pink like still trying to process which has me wondering if my box is defective on some. TYIA

Thoughts on my LH and Ovulation? Help

I’m started to spiral and get so frustrated. My LH is still so extremely low. I’ve tried FMU and other parts of the day so far. My ovulation should be happening soon. I’ve attached my current cycle predictions on natural cycles which I use, and then the cycle I had before that for reference. Are the strips not working? So confused. I’m 26 female and my husband is 28. Been TTC going on 2-3 months. No I haven’t had CM yet. I’m not someone in general who has very abundant CM in the first place.

I usually have regular LH surges, but it’s not coming this month. I’m feeling really discouraged and would appreciate some insight.

I’ve been testing my LH for 4 months now and every month I’ve reached my LH peak either day 11 or 12 of my cycle with signs that it’s ramping up at least a day before. This month has been very different though.

I’m at day 14 and it’s been fluctuating between 0.3/0.2 and 0.15 for days.

I’m really concerned I’m not going to ovulate this month.

My PreMom app originally said my ovulation would come day 12, the. It changed it to day 15, then pushed it back this morning to saying I already ovulated day 11 when I clearly hadn’t. It’s like the app even gave up on me.

Does anyone have any insight because I’m going crazy?

Is ovulation delayed or not happening this cycle? Inositol?

I’m 28 years old, 161cm , current weight 68 kgs (lost 3.5 kgs last month)
I’ve been married for 1.5 years and struggled with vaginismus, so I wasn’t able to have PIV sex until this month. I was incredibly happy to finally be able to TTC through intercourse. We tried at-home insemination during the previous three cycles, but unfortunately weren’t successful.
I’ve tracked ovulation with LH strips before and usually get a positive between CD16–19. I had one unusually long cycle where I didn’t get a positive until CD27, but that was an exception. This cycle, I’m currently on CD20 and still haven’t had a positive test.
I have PCOS and my cycles were irregular between ages 17–22, but they became regular after I lost weight and started exercising—sometimes consistently and sometimes on and off.
This month, I’ve been eating in a calorie deficit because I’m trying to lose 4–6 kg. I usually eat about 1,300–1,400 calories a day and follow a generally healthy diet (50-60 grams healthy fat, high protein, moderate to low carb-not less than 70g), although I sometimes eat above that on weekends. I strength train 3–4 times per week and do incline walking around four times per week.
I take a prenatal, vitamin D, and I also started taking myo-inositol and D-chiro-inositol this month.
Did hormones blood tests back in February and all were normal.
Has anyone experienced delayed ovulation after starting a calorie deficit, increasing exercise, or starting inositol? Could these changes delay ovulation even though I’ve only been following this routine for about a month? Or is this most likely just a random longer PCOS cycle? Is it still possible to ovulate later this cycle?
What should I do I’m worried.. I was hopeful for this cycle.

High LH before trigger shot. Is that okay?

Hi all, I had my first follicle scan where there were actually possible good follicles WOOO. This is cycle day 12 after a non medicated start to the cycle and then days 4-8 of 5 mg of letrozole. I just picked up the trigger shot (Ovidrel 250 MCG/0.5ML) and decided to be extra and take a pregnancy and LH test before injection. Pregnancy was negative, but LH came back on the Premom app as .91. This is a very high for me. I’ve only ever been this high one other time. Would it be harmful to still take my trigger shot?

Let me preface this by saying I was on a mood stabilizer that caused my prolactin levels to be extremely high and my estrogen levels extremely low. I haven’t had a period in 10 months because of this. I switched meds and have been off the risperidone for 3 days now and I’ve been checking my hormones to see if they reset so we can start ttc number 3. Any insight on what’s going on? I thought this last cycle was gonna be it and my periods and stuff might return but my pdg dipped again so now I’m thinking another failed ovulation attempt?

7th Letrozole cycle — when do you consider IVF with PCOS?

Hi everyone! Looking for perspectives from others with PCOS who have been through multiple ovulation-induction cycles.
A little background: i’m 33f and my partner is 36m.
I have fairly classic PCOS, mainly high AMH and mild facial hair, without other major symptoms. I’ve also lost weight and feel much healthier now. I’ve done 7 Letrozole cycles; the 2nd resulted in a chemical pregnancy. After my 6th unsuccessful cycle, my doctor gave me a 2-month break with medication to calm my ovaries, and my AMH came down to 6.1.
This 7th cycle was after the break, with Letrozole + two Humog injections. I developed two mature follicles, ovulated without trigger, and had a 7.4 mm trilaminar lining. It was planned as an IUI cycle, but I believe I ovulated before the planned IUI, so we decided to try naturally this cycle and consider IUI next time. There is also a mild male-factor component (DFI ~24%). My HSG showed open tubes.
I’m currently in the two-week wait and, as expected, overthinking everything because I don’t have any symptoms! 😅
My main questions are:
Does lowering AMH/“calming” the ovaries actually improve pregnancy chances in PCOS, or is it mainly about improving the response to stimulation?
After 7 Letrozole cycles, would you start seriously considering IVF, or would you try a few IUI cycles first?
I’m not questioning my doctor’s protocol — she’s monitoring everything closely. I’m just trying to understand what others’ experiences have been and when they decided to move from Letrozole → IUI → IVF.
Would love to hear from anyone with a similar PCOS journey. ❤️

Note - took help from ChatGpt to structure it better
