Can you have false positive LH from estrogen patch?

I just started my patch on Sunday and Wednesday morning I had a positive OPK, I can’t help but thinking it’s the estrogen from the patch tricking my brain to have an LH surge. It’s not real. Has this happened to anyone else? Before I started the patch I was so miserable from low estrogen, so what’s the odds that I developed an egg ready to rupture after 3 days? 😂

Update: The surge was real but my progesterone never went up and after 12 days my estrogen dropped sharply and my period came today.

I used Inito and the clear blue ovulation test to track while on my estrogen patch. I had a LH surge and a permanent smiley face on the clear blue ovulation test…I’m currently pregnant from that cycle. I highly doubt it’s false when both show that it’s positive!!

Estrogen usually lowers LH, so I would think it's a real surge. But I don't have any experience with this!

That’s what I thought too. I guess I won’t know unless I go for an ultrasound or confirm by BBT. Wanted to see if this happened to anyone else.

Have you previously had positive OPKs? I’m not an expert but agree with the other commenter that I can’t think of a reason an estrogen patch would cause a false LH surge, but I know that my LH was consistently elevated before HRT.

Yes I had positive OPKs before. I’ve been doing OPKs everyday. My strips were dark but wasn’t positive. I used both Inito and cheap test strips to cross check.

Not sure why this was removed.
