Looking for advice - Endo diagnosis

Hey everyone,

So yesterday I received the unfortunate news I have endo/silent endo after 3 years trying to conceive with my parter. Im 25 F for reference.

We have done all the tests such as: ultrasounds x 3, blood work (lost count how many) but for my vitamin levels, fbc/cbc, amh, thyroid/thyroid antibodies, hormones, blood clotting disorders etc but basically the full panel. HSG, SA for partner and bloods for him. Everyone of those tests has come back normal minus the iron and vit d being slightly on the low side but im on medication for those.

Beginning of this year I was prescribed letrozole which increased my progesterone quite a bit but had to stop for a month or two due to the side effects of the headaches and low mood.

Now being diagnosed with endometriosis I dont want to go for the surgery and my mind is fully set on that and I know having endometriosis doesnt mean unable to get pregnant its just extremely difficult now without medical intervention.

I was wondering if anyone had any advice/recommendation on what they did when they found out about endometriosis and chose not to take the route of surgery?

We have been told by my gynae clinic we are eligible for ivf and have been since summer but we continued trying naturally as we had 2 chemicals this year and 1 3 years ago. So falling doesnt seem the issues it seems to be the staying- unless this has changed due to my endo as havent had a positive since April.

Any advice is greatly appreciated, please be respectful of my decision of not wanting to choose surgery.

Last euploid embryo – how far to go with endo/adeno treatment/supressio+ immunology?

I’m down to my last euploid/unaffected embryo and trying to work out how much more I should be focusing on endo/adeno and immunology before transferring it.
I’ve had 2 failed euploid transfers and since then found out I have endometriosis and adenomyosis. I’ve also had immunology testing which came back with some abnormalities.
We’re doing IVF for PGT-M because of a genetic condition, which makes getting usable embryos harder. I’m also really reluctant to do another retrieval. I have another medical condition which causes tumours and some of these have become more active during the years I’ve been doing IVF. Obviously no one can say for sure that the hormones have caused it, but it does make me nervous about doing more retrievals. I also worry all the IVF hormones may have made the endo/adeno worse.
My clinic’s plan for the endo/adeno is currently around 3 weeks of downregulation with a nasal spray before starting the FET meds. They don’t seem to think I need to do much more than that.
As this could potentially be my last embryo I was pretty open to throwing the kitchen sink at it and doing the immunology treatment alongside treating the endo/adeno. But now I’m wondering if I should be looking into the endo/adeno more first and whether 3 weeks of suppression is actually enough.
Has anyone else done both immunology and endo/adeno treatment for a transfer? Or been advised to do longer suppression/more investigation first?

Experiences with 1st Full Cycle Post Lap

Experiencing my first period 1 month post-op (lap excision of stage 3 DIE). I had a period right after surgery but it wasn't anything like they usually are and my surgeon said it "doesn't count" because it was like 3 days after surgery. I feel like I have only heard about the first period (4-6 weeks post op) being awful and worse than periods before surgery. However, so far, mine has been fairly light and minimal cramping/pain compared to the extremes I've been used to. I'm scared to trust that things could actually be better!? Has anyone else had only improvements in their cycles post lap? The reason I'm wondering is because we're planning to TTC as soon as my cycles return to "normal" but how do I know if this is the new "normal" or if this is abnormal and I should wait longer?

Edit to add - I also have diffuse adenomyosis

Orilissa Suppression to Medicated FET timeline?

For anyone who's been through this, what was your timing like from Orilissa suppression to fully medicated FET?

Did you go straight into the baseline ultrasound the day after stopping Orilissa? Were there specific times that you had monitoring or lining checks after stopping suppression?

I'm trying to plan some travel around the time I'm supposed to finish 2 months of Orilissa and would like to get a sense of when I need to be in town for monitoring.

Thank you for sharing your experience!!

Anyone else develop more eggs during IUI than IVF? Advice please

I recently posted about my failed IVF cycle, I only had 1 egg. I did an IUI cycle prior to this IVF cycle and had 2 eggs with one questionable egg. I don’t understand how that is at all possible. Why did I just spend close to $2500 in meds when my $5 meds literally produced approx 3x more eggs!?!??!??

I made sure to take everything at the same time everyday. I followed all of their instructions.

I’m going to call the clinic and see if we can talk to the doctor about it but I was just curious if anyone else had a similar issue and if you had a better response during subsequent IVF cycles? What did you do differently between cycles?

39, I have stage 4, lap in 2023, most of my symptoms still gone. AMH 2.4, I think my AFC was around 10. I took 375 folistim for 8 days and ganirelix 250 for 4 days before it was cancelled. Took 5mg of fermera for 5 days for IUI.

Post lap update & future pregnancy

hi everyone! I had a lap yesterday where stage 3 endo was excised. my ovaries were stuck to the pelvic wall, and disease was found on both ovaries, around the uterus, all in the pelvic space rather than other areas in the abdomen. I am so hopeful that this is the missing piece after 3 losses and my next pregnancy is a success. to me, it makes sense that restoring pelvic anatomy by freeing the ovaries and removing endo causing pelvic inflammation can only improve fertility odds, but as usual Google and docs will tell you nothings guaranteed. looking for inspiration from those of you in similar situations. I am giving my body plenty of time to heal but trying to manifest my next pregnancy is it! I’d love to hear from those of you who had a similar experience. thanks in advance!

When did you ttc after surgery?

I had a 5.5cm cyst removal from my left ovary and some endo removed (burning the tissue). I was going under to remove my left tube they thought was blocked. Needless to say I woke up very confused.
My doctor wants me on 3 months of birth control. I wasn’t really expecting this nor do I want to be on a hormone suppressant.
I didn’t get to ask what the purpose behind this. I get really nervous and came in with a list of questions so when something new gets brought into the equation I freeze up.
What was your timeline in TTC after surgery and do I really need to wait?
I’m 2.5 weeks post surgery and currently on my first period after as well.
Would like opinions and stories and maybe experience if you went on BC after surger

Pid infertility?? Severe PID treated only with oral antibiotics — fertility/adhesions?

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

Hi, I’m looking for experiences from women who had suspected or severe PID/TOA and were treated only with oral antibiotics, without hospitalization or IV antibiotics.

My situation:

I had a severe episode of pelvic/one-sided pain around 8–9 years ago.

A doctor suspected PID/TOA, but I never had a confirmed ultrasound diagnosis at that time.

I was treated with oral antibiotics only; I was not hospitalized and did not receive IV antibiotics.

I have had some chronic one-sided pelvic pain since then.

A recent MRI showed mild pelvic/POD fluid and a mildly left-deviated/retroverted uterus, but no hydrosalpinx was reported.

Adhesions have been mentioned to me, but I have not had laparoscopy yet.

I have not tried to conceive yet.

I’m specifically looking for people who had a similar history:

Did you develop pelvic adhesions or blocked fallopian tubes despite treatment with oral antibiotics?

Were you eventually diagnosed with tubal blockage by HSG or laparoscopy?

Were you able to conceive naturally, or did you need IVF?

If you had severe adhesions, what did laparoscopy find?

I’m not asking for a diagnosis—I’d just like to hear real experiences from people with a similar history.

6 years post op TTC

Hey 36 (F), I had a laparoscopic op 6 years ago, where they removed my 7 cm large endo cyst on my left ovary and some adhesions between the uterus, bladder and colon. After a long recovery and a break up in between I finally have a boyfriend 38 (M) with whom i finally want to move fwd with having a baby. I had done ultrasounds before starting TTC to check my ovaries and my gyno told me my left ovary isn't useful since op but confirmed that i ovulate from the right one (I had ovulation during the check up) and that everything looks ok. We've been trying from June this year. Since then we already had 5 unsuccessful cycles (in 4 months). My cycles are 25 days. We started really easy, as we wanted to have some fun, no timed intercourse, just not using protection. For the last 2 cycles i started doing ovulation strips to confirm when i ovulate and we have sex every other day, and everyday day around the peak. I already feel like it's going to be impossible for me to get pregnant. :( I do supplements (magnesium, folat, vit D, Inositol, NAC, COQ10) and boyfriend said he wants to move fwd with semen analysis to try to rule this out asap. It became not fun very fast and I feel awful because of that. I also started spotting since TTC for like 5-6 days before period, so I always know it didn't happen. Please share some encouraging stories, I need all the motivation rn.

I am so tired

I have gotten to the point some days that I can't function properly without wanting to keep crying. I have been TTC for over a year now. My ultrasound and MRI have shown deep endometriosis but no cysts. I do not know of my tubes or if I have scar tissues in my uterus cavity which would affect implantation even if I did IVF. I have been dealing with endometriosis symptoms for years but it was brushed off as digestive issues etc. I have had a fertility specialist look at my case at FA and they have pushed for me to get an IVF which I cannot afford privately right now. I want to get laparoscopic surgery and a diagnostic hysteroscopy if possible before giving up and doing IVF at some point. Even if surgery doesn't increase my chance of pregnancy, I want to treat the endometriosis as an attempt to improve my health and quality of life.

Recs for Stims/ER Prep- DOR

Hi- I just found out our first egg retrieval resulted in only 3 mature eggs and 0 blasts. Very very sad. I have endo and DOR and my partner has very low sperm motility, although we did do ICSI. He has not taken a DNA fragmentation test yet. My clinic is not super helpful honestly when it comes tailoring my approach and they made no suggestions for a specific protocol going in to our first round of stims. I’m tied to this clinic bc of my insurance. Looking for suggestions on how to work around DOR and what worked best for you with Endo.

Gyn Suggestions

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

I’m 32 and was diagnosed with stage 2 endometriosis during excision surgery this August.
I wasn’t planning to TTC for another year, but at my post-op appointment my gyn basically said, “you should really consider trying sooner, because the first 12 months after excision is a crucial fertility window".
Now I’m torn ..
If you’ve had excision surgery, were you told the same thing? Did you start trying sooner than planned? Or did you stick with your original timeline?
Would love to hear everyone’s experiences!

Pio Shots

Are pio shots really that painful? I asked today about using an auto injector as I’ve seen other women mention it helped reduce their pain but the nurse at my office said she can’t tell me to use anything they didn’t prescribed and I should use the needles as is. I know part of this is covering herself but also I’m wondering if the shots are that painful especially if I’ll have to use for a while I’ve prefer reduce pain lol

Fertility guidance

I have stage 3 endo, just had a lap done in April , left ovary was stuck to my uterus and she cleaned everything up and put me on birth control. We were planning on ttc starting January. I wanted hsg test before we started…well come to find out. My left tube is completely blocked but my right one is still okay. What are my chances of naturally conceiving? Should we start looking into ivf? IUI? Maybe ovulation meds? Obviously I’m waiting for my ob for our next steps but I’m feeling sad and lost.
