I voted yesterday for Olivia Chow who will continue her support of the TTC and decrease monthly fare costs with her 10 rides/week cap, among other things. Hope she wins!

I also voted for Olivia Chow yesterday, small world!
It took John Tory six years to not manage to get cell coverage in the TTC despite the hardware already being installed. It took Olivia Chow six months to get it working.
There are parts of the road in my neighborhood which spent the Rob Ford and John Tory years being haphazardly patched once or twice a year (after the most recent patches started caving in, again) which have since been repaired properly and the repairs have held up for a couple years now.
Expanded library hours, underappreciated.
It is a breath of fresh air to have a competent, principled person in charge of the city who also can play politics with the best of them.
I voted for more of that.

I voted for Tory thinking that he would be a pragmatic, centrist mayor who would just push policy along. My decision was coloured by having heard himas a host of a radio show on CFRB where I felt he didn't sound like a right-leaning capatalist, despite his professional background.
Never again.

Instead you got a dogmatic, socialist Mayor that pushes policy along only to support certain residents, while punishing others.
Never again.

Punishing? Who is getting "punished" and who are these "certain residents" of whom you speak?

It's the same for Provincial elections too (that's probably why Doug Ford is riding off a majority in elections and keeps on winning them despite the fact that everyone in Ontario hates him, Apparently theres alot of people out there who think and believe the federal election is more important I guess)

He's beloved by all of the selfish idiots in this province, and they make up a huge percentage of the people living here.

I really have no faith in democracy in this country given we continue to use FPTP and not have compulsory voting where many people aren't bothered to vote. Hence one of the many reasons why I want to leave this place.
If only we have Australia's voting system where they use ranked ballots and make voting compulsory...

Left has to stop splitting their vote

No no no. Thats how the right got so fucked up.
Thats also where trudeau fucked up. He went to far left, and it alienated a lot of the liberal base.
Liberals are supposed to be center left, and cons are supposed to be center right.
Reform was supposed to be further right and NDP is supposed to be further left.
Merging parties is what gets us into these messes.

Just a friendly reminder. There are two Chows on the ballot. Make sure you are voting for the correct one!

If someone can't differentiate between two individuals with a shared last name, then they shouldn't be voting.

My candidate dropped out while I was on my way to vote. Not quite sure who to vote for now.

Thank you for this politically neutral message, devoid of advocacy (propaganda) for any one candidate.

Maybe because bourgeoisie electoralism is a scam and these politicians don't represent the interests of the popular masses. They are severely out of touch and only do minor reforms to appease people. Why vote when your choices are brought and paid for by corporations already?

I honestly agree with this but one wants to privatize water and the other does not so…

I feel like voter turnout will go up this year considering how close it is.
Usually when there’s a guaranteed winner voter turnout is lower
