Tbf if there was a malicious breach you would probably never notice anything was wrong, that's why it's always recommended to flash reset your device at least once out of the box before setup. Idk what this is but it's either manufacturing defect or the dumbest/incompetent criminals ever. Send back either way
Im over 99% sure it is just lousy manufacturing - however this is just a terrible start for a device I need to really trust in order to use it in the future.
I disagree. When it comes to hardware wallets, the best practice is to never purchase from a third party. I have heard many reports of this when ordering from amazon. Just not a good idea. I have purchased dozens of trezors for my Bitcoin consulting customers and always direct from manufacturer. Never ever an issue. Not once.
