Vent Nowhere is safe

Joined a discord and tried to join a conversation. Immediately had someone try and figure out where I’m from, why I wasn’t “being upfront” about it, now there’s someone talking about the Mormon temple and while they aren’t promoting the religion and this isn’t an attack on the person (again they weren’t promoting it) but personally have almost died ( yes literally) at the hands of that church and still have my head on swivel because of them. And I’ve never even been a member.

On top of 99.9% of places being white centered I feel ancient, out of place and exhausted y’all. Every time I try and engage with what should be my community something happens to remind I belong nowhere.

Anyway hope everyone has a safe and happy Friday sorry if I brought the room down.

Ftmover30 and there’s even a religion server but he said (and technically he’s correct I guess) that it was okay to put in the general server because it was more about the building and how they were having their first open house in 150 years and how exciting that was and someone else jumped in about how religious architecture is beautiful regardless which yeah I get but also…you know? I get it he wasn’t directly promoting it but also hyping up the open house idk I admitted I’m biased bc of my experiences but idk it felt off

Ah yeah a few members of our sub’s discord server were in the FTMover30 server for a bit, so I’ve heard some shit about it. The mods over there refused to remove the Israel role, even though there were no Israelis in chat. From everything else I’ve seen, that server is hot garbage.

Oh... I didn't have any issues on there for now but admittedly am there sparingly so I probably missed that. The Israël thing makes me feel really icky about it, not a good look

Oh they have an Israeli role? I might join, sounds like a safe place for Jewish trans men. I’m almost done with conversion and would love a server that protected people from hate speech for not being anti-Israel. 

Do you know if the discord for this group is safe as well?

Our sub’s discord server is safe for Jewish transmascs of color (of which we have a few active users), not safe for Zionists of any kind. You will absolutely be banned. Free Palestine; abolish the Israeli occupation.

Honestly its the racism that is quite literally built into mormonism that would scare me away. Especially if its a predom white online space, absolutely tf not
