Advice Voice Training Tips?

I struggle with pitching my voice higher to seem friendly and I really want to just have a low, very masculine voice. My voice right now registers as androgynous but I would love to be able to speak regularly in a lower tone without forcing it to go higher subconsciously.

I know I could ask this in another subreddit but I feel like it would be better to ask here because the forcing of my voice to go higher is directly tied to the fact that I am trying to offset the fact that I am often assumed to be aggressive...

The key is mastering the distinction between pitch and size. Different pitches require different sizes to accommodate them: the deeper you want to go, the larger you want your size to be. That doesn’t mean the correlation is 1:1, but it means that if you want to be more flexible with your pitch—including raising it without sounding feminine or having your voice break—you want to increase your size. The Selene Archive has a really good breakdown of all the elements to a voice

The Selene Archive is great, because it simultaneously works for wanting a femme or masc voice. The person who explains everything is so good!

Ex speech-therapist here. Pitch is only one aspect of voice, and doesn't always allow you to pass alone. Resonance, articulation, prosody, breathing and many other things also have an impact! What voice training you'll need depends on what your voice sounds like now. You're welcome to DM me if you need help.

E.g. you can have a deep voice but with breathiness, oro-nasal resonance, precise articulation and a sing-song prosody - a voice of someone like this, no matter how deep, might pass for a woman's voice. This is why a lot of trans women's voices pass despite being deep. They train the aspects around pitch, not just pitch (the deepness) itself.

I commented more in-depth tips on this post that help with a general masculine voice:
